2022 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM: LB - Joe Andreessen, Sr., Bryant,...Andreessen picks up first team all-conference honors for the third-straight year and for the first time in the Big South. Named to the preseason All-Big South team, Andreessen didn't disappoint, finishing with a school-record and Big South-leading 116.0 tackles (10.5/g). He also led the Big South with 18.5 TFLs and added 4.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. Andreessen posted 10+ tackles in nine of the 11 gam es this season and finished sixth nationally in tackles per game. He was the only player in the country to open the season with five-straight games of double-digit tackles and added a scoop-and-score at Long Island. Andreessen ends the season tied for th ird all-time with 255.0 tackles and has 7.0 sacks, 37.5 TFLs and five interceptions in his 39-game career. - Bryant Football

Joe Andreessen will return to Western New York to play college football. Andreessen, a 2017 Lancaster High graduate who was a two-time All-Western New York selection, announced Sunday on his social media accounts that he will join the University at Buffa lo football team as a transfer for the 2023 season. "Can't wait to get to work!" Andreessen wrote in a post on Twitter. "Crazy journey so far and not done yet. Pumped to play in my hometown for my final college year!" Andreessen is a 6-foot-1, 232-pound linebacker who had 77 tackles, including 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions in 11 games this season at Bryant, a Football Championship Subdivision program.He was seventh in voting among 30 players for th e 2022 Stats Perform Buck Buchanan Award, which is awarded to the top defensive player at the FCS level. Andreessen has 255 tackles, seven sacks, five interceptions and 10 pass breakups in 39 games over five seasons. He played in four games in 2020 (the spring of 2021 season) and in two games in 2021. - Buffalo News

2021 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): LB Joe Andreessen, Bryant, Sr.,...Andreessen formed the other half of the Bash Brothers, finishing with 80.0 tackles to earn All-NEC First Team honors for the second-straight season. Bryant's s tarting middle linebacker, Andreessen actually led the NEC with three interceptions and finished with 8.0 TFLs and three additional pass breakups. Andreessen opened the year with a bang, posting 10.0 tackles at URI and posted at least 3.0 tackles in all 11 games. He intercepted his first-career pass at Duquesne and then posted Bryant's multi-INT game since 2018 with a pair at Wagner.
