Few players have the name recognition and brand value of Ohio State football's Marvin Harrison Jr. The unanimous All-America receiver remained choosy with his endorsement deals in the new age of name, image and likeness compensation for college athletes. His father's Hall of Fame NFL career set the family up well. Plus, fair or not, any company the son attached his name to, he is also attaching that of Marvin Harrison Sr., as well.

Harrison could apparently not pass up one endorsement that represents one of the best marriages thus far of athlete and company. He announced Wednesday he is "officially part of the Monarc family." Monarc makes the pitching machines that football receivers and other players use to work on routes or catching skills on their own. This deal hits close to Harrison's personal brand. His work ethic and extra time spent in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center have been part of his story from his arrival in Columbus. Usually those morning, afternoon or evening sessions spent on the indoor field involve one of those Monarc machines. "The Seeker was a big part of my success last season," Harrison said of one of the company's models in the video. "It allows me to put in work by myself. Keeps me on top of my game." - Cleveland Plain Dealer

Sitting at his locker, one of the first inside the entrance to Ohio State football's locker room at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Marvin Harrison Jr. showed no signs of trauma or distress. About 90 minutes earlier, the All-America receiver lay crumpled underneath a goal post. He elevated to catch a pass in the back of the end zone, and Georgia defensive back Javon Bullard laid a hit on him. Harrison said he never lost consciousness. However, after evaluation, OSU's medical staff placed him in concussion protocol and took his helmet away. While he said he wanted to return to the game, he understood why he could not finish the Buckeyes' 42-41 loss.

"I did my best, you know - I want to be out there with my team," Harrison said. "I respect the trainer's decision. At the end of the day they're just looking out for my health. But yeah, I definitely tried to fight." Harrison said he had experienced concussions prior to his Ohio State career. He said Saturday's experience "kind of was a similar situation." Yet he also said he felt good enough to return to the game. According to Ohio State athletics' policy on concussions and head trauma, athletes are to be removed from practice or competition when they experience concussion-like symptoms. They cannot return to participation that day if the concussion is confirmed. If concussion is confirmed, athletes undergo evaluation by the athletic trainer or team physician, including "symptom assessment, SCAT5 evaluation, and clinical evaluation for cervical spine trauma, fractures and/or intracranial bleeding." - Cleveland Plain Dealer

C.J. Stroud threw three touchdown passes to Marvin Harrison Jr., TreVeyon Henderson ran for another two scores and No. 3 Ohio State raced past Arkansas State 45-12 on Saturday. Harrison had a career-best seven catches for 184 yards. Coupled with his three-touchdown performance as a first-year player in the Rose Bowl last season, Harrison became only the second Ohio State receiver to have a pair of three-touchdown games in his career. Joey Galloway had multiple touchdown games in 1993 and '94. Stroud, a Heisman Trophy favorite, had 207 passing yards and a pair of 42-yard touchdowns to Harrison in the first half. He finished 16 for 24 for 351 yards and four touchdowns as the Buckeyes (2-0) rolled up 538 yards.

Henderson busted through for an 8-yard scoring run in the first quarter and a 23-yard romp to open the second half. He finished with 10 carries for 87 yards. Kicker Dominic Zvada was responsible for all of Arkansas State's scoring, but Ohio State miscues set up the first two field goals. Penalties helped put the Red Wolves in range for a 30-yard Dominic Zvada boot in the first quarter. Blown coverage and a missed tackle on a long James Blackman pass to Champ Flemings got them in range for another. Blackman was 20 for 34 for 188 yards. Flemings caught 10 passes for 105. - Ohio State/AP College Football
