2022 PRESEASON ALL-CAA CONFERENCE TEAM (COACHES/MEDIA): Rayjoun Pringle, Villanova, Jr., WR,...Defending conference champion Villanova was picked as the preseason CAA Football favorite in a poll of league head coaches and media relations directors which was announced as part of a virtual media day. Rayjoun Pringle (second team) and Jaaron Hayek (third team) combined for 17 receiving touchdowns while each being all-conference performers. - Villanova Football

Villanova, which went 10-3 overall last season and earned a share of the CAA Football championship for the first time since 2012, has been picked to capture the CAA Football title again in 2022 according to a vote of the league's head coaches and media r elations directors. The Wildcats got 16 first-place votes and 270 points in the poll, topping rival Delaware, which received seven first-place votes and finished second with 235 points. Rhode Island placed third with 224 points and Richmond was close beh ind in fourth with 219 points. William & Mary, which picked up two first-place votes, and Elon, which received one first-place vote, finished fifth and sixth respectively in the poll. Stony Brook placed seventh followed by Maine, New Hampshire, Monmouth, Towson, UAlbany and Hampton.Villanova returns many of its top offensive performers from last year's team that advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs for the first time since 2014 and was ranked No. 8 nationally. Back for the Wildcats a re receivers Rayjoun Pringle and Jaaron Hayek, who combined for 17 touchdown catches, running backs Jalen Jackson and DeeWil Barlee, and All-America offensive lineman Michael Corbi. 2021 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Rayjoun Pringle, Villanova, WR, Jr.,...After being a second team all-conference pick during the Spring season, Pringle earns a second straight All-CAA honor after continuing to develop into a top playmaker in the conference. He leads the CAA and ranks 10th nationally with an average of 20.2 yards per reception and has been Villanova's top receiver with 688 yards and seven touchdowns while making 34 catches. Pringle ranks fourth in the conference in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, as well as sixth in receiving yards per game (62.5). He leads the team with 14 receptions of 20 yards or longer and has caught five touchdown passes of at least 20 yards. Pringle has three games with over 100 receiving yar ds and three other contests with 64 or more yards. - Villanova Football
