The University of Miami has secured its eighth scholarship commitment from the transfer portal, this one a former Iowa cornerback. Graduate transfer Terry Roberts, a 5-10, 180-pound fifth-year senior this past season, announced his decision Monday evenin g on social media. The Hurricanes are especially in need of cornerbacks, as five-star prospect Cormani McClain flipped his commitment last week from UM to Colorado. Three former UM cornerbacks recently transferred: Al Blades Jr., Isaiah Dunson and Khamau ri Rogers.Roberts, 22, played in five games this past season but reportedly was sidelined by an injury leading to the Oct. 22 Ohio State game. He had three starts last season and amassed 13 tackles (nine solo) with one interception and three pass breakups. He came to Iowa in 2018 as a three-star defensive back out of Erie, Pennsylvania's Cathedral Prep. He redshirted his first season. Roberts finished his Iowa career with 47 tackles and four starts in 33 games played. He had seven pass breakups a nd two interceptions. - Miami Herald
