The Mays Landing, New Jersey, native has totaled 32 tackles with four for loss and six breakups in 1 2 starts at cornerback. The third-year defensive back was one of the best players on the field. Melton finished with five tackles and one pass break-up. The 6-foot, 190-pound Melton made several nice plays and delivered some hard hits. Melton last season finished with 28 tackle s (two for loss) with a team-leading three interceptions in 10 games. A Cedar Creek product, Melton was a lockdown cornerback. He's emerged as one of the most formidable defensive backs in the Big Ten. - Asbury Park Press
