Texas edge rusher Ovie Oghoufo transferred to LSU, the team announced Thursday. He played three years for coach Brian Kelly at Notre Dame before transferring to Texas. Oghoufo started 20 games over two years at Texas. He recorded 96 tackles, 14 tackles f or loss, 4½ sacks and six quarterback hurries. He has one year of eligibility and provided experienced depth at edge rusher.LSU needed edge rushers. Starter BJ Ojulari declared for the NFL draft, and backups Desmond Little and Zavier Carter enter ed the transfer portal. The Tigers refilled the position with Oghoufo, Oregon transfer Bradyn Swinson, five-star freshman signee Da'Shawn Womack and four-star freshmen Jaxon Howard and Dylan Carpenter. - Baton Rouge Advocate

The former Notre Dame defensive end announced Tuesday on Twitter that he plans to graduate transfer to Texas. Oghoufo entered the transfer portal earlier this month following his junior season with the Irish. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Oghoufo played in 11 games last season as a backup at the vyper defensive end position and on special teams. He recorded 10 tackles, two pass breakups, 1.5 sacks and one quarterback hurry while working in a rotation with graduate senior Daelin Hayes and sophomore Isaiah Fosk ey. - South Bend Tribune

The line to enter the transfer portal added another Notre Dame football player Tuesday. Junior defensive end Ovie Oghoufo joined the list of Irish players looking for a new home, a source confirmed with the Tribune. Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports first repo rted the news Tuesday morning. Oghoufo became the sixth Notre Dame player to express plans to enter the transfer portal since the season ended Friday with a 31-14 loss to Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinal. Oghoufo played in 11 games as a junior and totaled 10 tackles, two pass breakups, 1.5 sacks and one quarterback hurry. Foskey played a total of 282 defensive snaps across all 12 games with 20 tackles, 4.5 sacks and five quarterback hurries. - South Bend Tribune
