  2023 SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Brandon Porter, UIW,...Brandon Porter had a standout final season with UIW as he won the SLC Offensive Player of the Year, accumulating 1,072 yards and seven touchdowns. He finished second in the nation for receiving yards per game with 107.2 while sitting ninth for receptions per game. Porter was second in the Southland Conference in all-purpose yards as he became a constant target for the Cardinals offense throughout the season. Porter has been named a finalist for the Walter Payton Award for the nation's top offensive play. He is only the second UIW player to win Offensive Player of the Year, joining Cam Ward, who took home honors in 2021. - Southland Conference Football

  SEPT 20 STATS FCS NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK: Northern Arizona: 21-19 win at Arizona,...The Lumberjacks (1-2) beat a Pac-12 opponent for the first time, denying the Wildcats on a potential game-tying two-point attempt with 2:16 remaining. Posting the Big Sky's fourth win over a FBS program this season, coach Chris Ball's squad overcame a 13-0 deficit late in the first half. Brady Shough scored on a 28-yard interception return and the last of three defensive takeaways set up RJ Martinez's TD pass to Hendrix Johnson in the fourth quarter. Linebacker Harrison Beemiller posted game highs of 10 tackles and 4.5 for loss. Honorable Mention: James Madison (37-24 win at Weber State); Kennesaw State (31-10 win at Wofford); Southeastern Louisiana (56-10 win at Central Connecticut State); UIW (42-34 win at Texas State). - STATS FCS Football

  2019 ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Wide Receiver Brandon Porter, Sophomore, Northern Arizona,...Porter enjoyed one of the best receiving performances ever by a Lumberjack in 2019. The sophomore was the top aerial target for the 'Jacks as he ranked among national leaders and led the Big Sky in both receiving yards (1,198/5th in FCS) and receiving touchdowns (10/19th in FCS). He also hauled in a total of 85 catches, which set a new single-season standard in the NAU record book. Porter posted 100 or more receiving yards in six different games this season and scored multiple touchdowns in four contests. - Northern Arizona Football
