 Tyrone Hopper, Missouri, Player News

  01/11/23 - DE Tyrone HopperrSr/2024, Missouri, 6-3, 241 (DS#999 DE) + More +

The Southeastern Conference's most-improved defense is putting the band back together for 2023. Junior linebacker Ty'Ron Hopper became the latest player to confirm he's coming back next season, the team announced Tuesday on social media. The second-team All-SEC selection led the Tigers (6-7) with 14 tackles for loss and 23 hurries this past season, his first at Mizzou since transferring from Florida last year. Hopper, who started all 13 games, finished second on the team with 78 tackles and 32 pressures and added 2.5 sacks and an interception.

Hopper is one of eight regular starters from the 2022 defense positioned to return next season, along with defensive tackles Darius Robinson and Kristian Williams, linebacker Chad Bailey, cornerbacks Ennis Rakestraw Jr. and Kris Abrams-Draine and safeties Jaylon Carlies and Joseph Charleston. The only regular starters from the end of the regular season not coming back are senior defensive ends Isaiah McGuire and D.J. Coleman and senior safety Martez Manuel. - Post-Dispatch

  06/20/22 - DE Tyrone HopperrSr/2024, Missouri, 6-3, 241 (DS#999 DE) + More +

Ty'Ron Hopper transferred to Missouri from Florida this offseason, after being expected to earn a starting spot with the Gators for 2022. He joined his cousin Tyrone Hopper, a defensive lineman for the Tigers who transferred from North Carolina. Hopper made 65 tackles last season for Florida, starting four starts. Ten of the tackles were for loss. The 6'2", 220 pound senior from Shelby, North Carolina also had 3.5 sacks and forced a fumble. He will likely take over the middle spot of the Tiger linebacking corps. - Columbia Daily Tribune
