SEPT 12 MEAC FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: South Carolina State's BJ Davis (LB, 6-2, 190, r-Jr., Blair, S.C.) picked off a pair of passes against Bethune-Cookman, including one he returned 59 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Davis, r.-Jr., South Carolina State,...Sixteen(16) South Carolina State Bulldogs were named to the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason Football All-Conference team, while Coach B uddy Pough's team was picked to finish first (1st) in the race for the league title for the second straight year, as voted on by MEAC head football coaches and sports information directors. Earning All-MEAC First Team honors for South Carolina State were wide receiver Shaquan Davis, running back Kendrell Flowers, tight end Yancey Washington, offense lineman Nick Taiste, while defensive lineman Patrick Godbolt, linebacker BJ Davis and Greene were named for the defense respectfully. - South Carolina State Football
