2022 ALL-SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: WR Darion Chafin, UIW, Gr.,...Chafin broke the single-game record for receiving yards with an impressive 262 against Nevada to earn SLC Offensive Player of the Week. He is tied for first on the team with 13 touchdowns, helping the team break the season touchdowns responsible for record. SEPT 12 SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Darion Chafin, UIW - WR - Graduate - Wichita Falls, Texas (Burkburnett HS),...Chafin had a monster game in the Cardinals' 55-41 victory over FBS Nevada. His 262 receiving yards notched a career-h igh while breaking the UIW single-game record and earning the second-most receiving yards in a game in Southland history. Chafin now ranks first in the UIW record book in career receiving touchdowns with 18. He leads FCS nationally in receiving yards per game (184.0). - Southland Conference Football

Had a season high seven receptions in back-to-back games against HBU and SLU . HBU with 75 yds and one touchdown; SLU with 142 yds and two touchdowns.
