Jemel Jones scored a career-high three touchdowns and Army rallied in the second half to beat Louisiana-Monroe 48-24 on Saturday. Jones, who began the year as the third-string quarterback, started his second straight game and rushed for 96 of Army's 441 yards on the ground. After Quinn Maretzki tied the game at 17-all with a field goal early in the third quarter, the Black Knights (3-4) scored twice more in the period to pull away.Leo Lowin's interception led to Jones' third touchdown, a 6-yarder , to take the lead. Ay'Jaun Marshall's 36-yard catch - one of two completions for Army - set up the Black Knights at the ULM 9 and Tyson Riley scored from the 3 in the final minute of the third. Bryson Daily capped Army's 34-point second half with a 64-y ard run late in the game. Chandler Rogers threw for two touchdowns and was intercepted once for the Warhawks (2-6). He threw a 12-yard scoring pass to Boogie Knight and Andrew Henry ran for a 10-yard score in the second quarter. Sophomore Jemel Jones ran for a score and threw for another and Army defeated The Citadel 14-9 on Saturday for the Black Knights' sixth straight home win. Jones finished a 14-play, 62-yard drive with a 5-yard touchdown run near the end of the third quart er for a 14-3 lead. Just before halftime, he threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Reikan Donaldson for a 7-3 Black Knights (4-1) advantage with 2:57 before halftime. On the Bulldogs' (0-4) following drive, Brandon Rainey completed a 50-yard pass to Raleigh Webb to put the ball at Army's 29-yard line. On the following play, however, Cedrick Cunningham Jr. intercepted Rainey at the 3-yard line to end the threat. The Bulldogs tried to make a game of it when Jay Smith picked off Jones and returned the ball 18 yards to Army's 2-yard line. Sophomore quarterback Jemel Jones was named an honorable mention selection for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Trophy Player of the Week award after his performance on Saturday vs. Abilene Christian. The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Trophy, which is given to th e best offensive player from the state of Texas, honors a top athletic performance from a student-athlete out of Texas weekly. Jones, a native of The Colony, Texas, was outstanding after starting quarterback Christian Anderson went down with an injury, l eading the team to a 55-23 victory over ACU. A product of The Colony High School, he led the team in rushing yards with 138 yards on 14 carries, scoring a team-high two touchdowns. He also added 52 yards passing on a 4-for-7 performance. Army quarterback Jemel Jones had 14 carries for a career-high 138 yards rushing and two touchdowns and added a 33-yard TD pass as the Black Knights cruised to a 55-23 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday. Jones was 4-of-7 passing for 52 yards. Freshman Tyrell Robinson added a season-high 126 yards rushing on seven carries for Army (3-1) and Anthony Adkins ran for 70 yards and two scores. The Black Knights bounced back after a 24-10 loss at No. 14 Cincinnati on Sept. 26 and won their fifth consecutive home game. Abilene Christian (0-2) was stopped on fourth down on each of its first two drives and went three-and-out on its third before Army recovered an onside kick and Jakobi Buchanan's 3-yard TD run made it 23-0 with 10:15 left in the second quarter. - AP College Football
