TCU star running back Kendre Miller officially declared for the 2023 NFL draft on Monday. Quentin Johnston also declared for the NFL draft and should be among the first receivers taken in the draft. Johnston caught 60 passes for 1,069 yards and six touchdowns. He was voted the Offensive MVP of the Fiesta Bowl. Johnston had four games with at least 100 yards in 2022 and had over 2,000 career receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. Both are top-10 in TCU history. - Fort Worth Star-Telegram

TCU is committed to the run. It produced 206.5 rushing yards per game, 20th in the country, and perhaps that helps prevent the Frogs from becoming one-dimensional against Georgia. But TCU won't win the game Monday with methodical offense. It's simply too difficult to consistently sustain drives against Georgia. But connecting on deep plays could give TCU a fighting chance. That conversation begins with Quentin Johnston, Duggan's top target who is a projected first-round NFL draft pick in April.

Johnston had 163 yards against Michigan, and he'll need a similar showing against Georgia. Johnston, perhaps TCU's most talented individual, has 1,066 yards and six touchdowns this season. "What's great about him is not only his ability to get on top of the deep balls, but his ability to extend plays and get yards after catch," Bulldogs co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann said. "On deep balls, we have to win our fair share and get him cut off, not let him get on top of us because he has great speed. Duggan does a great job putting the ball out there for him to run under it. Then on the intermediate and short throws, we have to get him on the ground and limit yards after the catch because he does a great job making (defenders) miss." - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Kendre Miller scored on a 2-yard run in the second overtime and 13th-ranked TCU beat No. 8 Oklahoma State 43-40 in a matchup of the Big 12's last remaining undefeated teams Saturday. Fans stormed the field after Miller got into the end zone for the Horned Frogs (6-0, 3-0 Big 12), who had gone into the fourth quarter trailing by two touchdowns. "Great win for our program," first-year TCU coach Sonny Dykes said. The teams traded touchdowns in the first overtime, with receivers getting wide open for big plays. Max Duggan threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to a wide-open Quentin Johnston on the second play of overtime for TCU. The Cowboys were then facing fourth-and-9 when Spencer Sanders found Braydon Johnson by himself for a 23-yard gain to the 1, setting up Dominic Richardson's tying TD run. "It shows the culture of this team," Duggan said of the comeback. Oklahoma State (5-1, 2-1) got the ball to start the second overtime, but after a holding penalty and three incomplete passes in a row, the Cowboys had to settle for Tanner Brown's fourth field goal, a 52-yarder.

Miller finished with 104 yards rushing on 22 carries, including another TD on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter. Duggan completed 23 of 40 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns, while Johnston had eight catches for 180 yards. "He has a burning desire to be a great player," Dykes said of Johnston. "He's not an Instagram guy. He just likes to play football." Sanders ran for touchdowns on Oklahoma State's first two drives of the game, but was only 16-of-36 passing for 245 yards with a touchdown and an interception after not practicing all week. He dinged his right (throwing) shoulder late in their win over Texas Tech last week, but insisted he was fine and that the lack of practice wasn't the problem. "It's just football at the end of the day," Sanders said after gaining 68 yards on 11 carries. "I just had to physically come out and play better." - TCU/AP College Football

OCT 10 BIG 12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: TCU's Quentin Johnston helped lead No. 17 TCU to a 38-31 win at No. 19 Kansas with a career-high and team-best 14 receptions, which tied for the most by an FBS player this season. His 24-yard touchdown catch with 1:36 to play provided the winning score. The 14 catches were the most by a Horned Frog since Josh Doctson had 18 in a 55-52 win at Texas Tech in 2015. His 206 yards receiving were the most at TCU since Taj Williams had 210 versus Oklahoma in 2016. Johnston posted his sixth career 100-yard game. - Big 12 Football

TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston came into the season as a trendy name to watch, especially for NFL draft Twitter followers. More eyes were on the 6-foot-4 Johnston after last season when he had 634 receiving yards and averaged more than 19 yards per catch. The expectation was Johnston would build on those numbers and solidify himself as a high draft pick for the 2023 draft. Things haven't quite gone as planned yet through the first quarter of the season. Johnston leads the team in receptions with eight, but ranks sixth on the Horned Frogs iin yards and he has yet to find the endzone.

Despite the slow start, Johnson said he isn't discouraged. He said he has focused on how his teammates have thrived around him during TCU's 3-0 start. "I'm not to upset with it. At the end of the day I'm getting doubled a lot, it obviously opens up a lot more opportunities for my teammates," Johnston said. "We've been getting more receivers the ball and we're winning with that so I'm happy." Johnston admitted he had a little frustration after just having three catches against Colorado in the season opener. The slow start plus the injury to Chandler Morris and the running game all played apart in that. After the game, Johnston realized that there was nothing to be upset about. "After that I was like 'Man we won and other people are getting the ball.' I'm happy with everything that's going on," Johnston said. - Fort Worth Star
