SEPT 26 MISSOURI VALLEY NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: S Dillon Thomas, Missouri State, 6-2, 189, Sr., (Kansas City, Mo., Park Hill South/Northern Illinois),...The Northern Illinois transfer racked up a game-high 11 total tackles for the Bears vs. No. 2 South Dak ota State, including seven solo stops (also a game-high). OCT 4 MAC WEST DIVISION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dillon Thomas, NIU, Rover (LB),...R-Junior, Kansas City, Mo. (Park Hill South)...Dillon Thomas made a number of key plays for the Huskie defense as NIU held Eastern Michigan to just 38 rushing yards o n 24 carries for the game. Thomas tipped EMU quarterback Ben Bryant's pass that was then intercepted and returned for a touchdown by Jaden Dolphin. Thomas accounted for two of the Huskies' five sacks in the game. The first came on 3rd and 4 in the first quarter and forced an EMU punt; then in the fourth quarter, with NIU leading 24-17, Thomas sacked Ben Bryant for an eight yard loss to put the Eagles in a 3rd and 16 down on the NIU 44 which they were not able to convert. - MAC Football
