The Wildcats also announced that running back Cam Porter, who led them in rushing as a freshman last fall, will miss the season after suffering a lower-body injury during preseason camp. Porter rushed for 333 yards with five touchdowns in seven games las t season. With Porter out, the rushing duties likely will be shared among Bowling Green graduate transfer Andrew Clair, redshirt sophomore Evan Hull and freshman Anthony Tyus III. The versatile Clair rushed for 1,937 yards and 13 touchdowns and caught 44 passes for 330 yards and four scores in 30 games over four seasons at Bowling Green, twice earning third-team All-MAC recognition. Hull has 495 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 13 games over the last two seasons. - Chicago Tribune

Northwestern added valuable depth to its running back room Monday, receiving a commitment from graduate transfer running back Andrew Clair, formerly of Bowling Green. "2021 will be full of accomplishments and new beginnings," Clair said in announcing his decision via Twitter early Monday afternoon. "See you in Evanston in the fall." Clair leaves the Falcons after a successful four-year career in which he rushed for 1,937 yards and 13 touchdowns in 30 games. He accomplished these feats despite BGSU going 8-33 in his four years with the program, a litany of injuries, and an unthinkable personal tragedy in the loss of his 25-year-old sister, Tanisha Watson, to COVID-19 in the fall of 2020. - The Daily Northwestern

Running back Andrew Clair, one of Bowling Green's top players and a multi-year starter, is in the transfer portal. Clair has rushed for more than 1,900 yards and 13 touchdowns in 30 career games at Bowling Green during the past four years. He was named t hird-team all-Mid-American Conference in both 2017 and 2018. Clair, a native of St. Louis, was recruited by multiple Power Five schools out of high school, but mostly as a defensive back. He chose BG because of his preference to play running back in coll ege. During the past year, Clair's family was struck by tragedy at home. Tanisha Watson, his 25-year-old sister, died of complications from coronavirus in September. Clair returned to BG to finish his studies and play the season, during which he rushed f or 266 yards in four games. - Toledo Blade

The Bowling Green coaching staff will return to campus in a limited capacity on Mond ay, a week ahead of the student-athletes. The return of football players is part of the phased-in approach for Bowling Green students, faculty, and staff members and once the first-phase of off-campus football players' return to campus is successful, the school will move on to the next phases. - Toledo Blade

Nearly every week last season, the drill was the same for Bowling Green running back Andrew Clair. Clair almost always was in full pads with his helmet, but he spent most practices on the sidelines and went into most games knowing he wouldn't play. A chr onic foot injury kept Clair to just four games - allowing him to redshirt last season - and for the first time, Clair was watching and not playing, including missing out on BG's 20-7 victory against Toledo. "That was the hardest one," Clair said. "Pregam e before the Toledo game, I was in the locker room crying because I wasn't playing. "Since I was 6 years old, that was the first year I ever missed out." When he's healthy, Clair is among the top offensive players in the Mid-American Conference - and the good news for Bowling Green is that Clair feels like himself again. - Toledo Blade
