Matthew McKay threw three touchdown passes, kicker Skyler Davis set a pair of school records, and Elon defeated Delaware 27-7 on Saturday. McKay's touchdown passes of 19 yards to Chandler Brayboy, 11 yards to Bryson Daughtry and six yards to Malik Griffi n all capped long scoring drives for the Phoenix. McKay completed 14 of 21 passes for 142 yards. Davis kicked a school-record 53-yard field goal and became Elon's all-time scoring leader with 285 points. Jalen Hampton had 136 yards rushing for the Phoeni x. No. 11 FCS Delaware scored on the first possession of the game when Nolan Henderson passed to Braden Brose for 12 yards but the Blue Hens (6-2, 3-2 Colonial) did not score again, managing just 265 yards of total offense. Matthew McKay threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns, Jalen Hampton rushed for 204 yards and Elon held off Gardner-Webb 30-24 on Saturday. Elon led 20-3 early in the second quarter before Gardner-Webb reeled off 21 straight points for a four-point lead at the break. The Phoenix had the only touchdown of the third quarter, a 27-yard connection between McKay and Jordan Bonner, and Skyler Davis added a 41-yard field goal early in the fourth for a 30-24 lead. Davis also opened the scoring with a 45-yard f ield goal and he made it 13-3 with a 51-yarder. Bryson Daughtry had a team-high 88 yards receiving on just three grabs for Elon (2-1). Bonner and DJ Moyer each only made one catch — both going for 20-plus-yard touchdowns. Bailey Fisher threw for 218 ya rds and two touchdowns for Gardner-Webb (1-2). - AP College Football

Matthew McKay threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns and Elon stifled Wofford 26-0 on Saturday. McKay threw scores of 3 and 6 yards to Jackson Parham and connected on a 27-yarder to Jordan Bonner for Elon (1-1). The Terriers managed just 128 yards of o ffense. Wofford now has been outscored 57-0 and collected just 358 yards of offense in its first two games. Wofford hadn't been shut out since the 2016 season when it was blanked three times. Matthew McKay passed for two touchdowns, Isaiah Ifanse ran for two and Montana State cruised to a 45-7 win over Cal Poly on Saturday. The Bobcats (5-1, 3-0 Big Sky Conference) broke the game open with 28 points in the second quarter for a 35-0 lead. Ifan se had a 12-yard scoring reception to go with a pair of short touchdown runs and backup quarterback Tommy Mellott broke free for a 74-yard score. McKay, who was 14 of 18 for 163 yards, also threw a touchdown pass to Treyton Pickering in the first quarter . Montana State had four interceptions, highlighted by Callahan O'Reilly's pick-6 in the third quarter. Later in the third, Shakobe Harper scored the only touchdown for the Mustangs (1-5, 0-3). Isaiah Ifanse ran for 217 yards, Matthew McKay threw a pair of touchdown passes in the second half, and Montana State beat Portland State 30-17 on Saturday in the Big Sky Conference opener for both teams. McKay threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Lance McC utcheon to give Montana State (3-1, 1-0) a 23-17 lead late in the third quarter. McKay added a 9-yard TD pass to Jaharie Martin that capped the scoring with about nine minutes remaining. McKay was 14-of-21 passing for 225 yards. McCutcheon made eight cat ches for 161 yards. Ifanse ran 30 times that included a 9-yard touchdown run. Davis Alexander completed 18 of 32 passes for 266 yards and threw a touchdown pass for Portland State (1-3, 0-1). - AP College Football

Matthew McKay threw for two touchdowns and Montana State used a pair of second quarter pick-6's and the Bobcats routed San Diego 52-10 on Saturday. McKay threw a 7-yard score to Derryk Snell and a 65-yarder to Elijah Elliott in a little more than a 5-1/2 -minute span in the first quarter. Isaiah Ifanse - who ran for 109 yards on 10 carries - added a 9-yard touchdown run to end the first. On the Torreros first drive of the second, Ty Okada picked off Mason Randall and returned it 72 yards for a four-score lead. Later, with 2:39 before halftime, Troy Anderson intercepted Randall and ran it back 40 yards for a 35-0 Bobcats (2-1) lead. Jaharie Martin started the third with a 1-yard touchdown run that followed Ifanse's 74-yard jaunt to the goal line on the f irst play of the second half. McKay was 19-of-25 passing for 256 yards with no interceptions and added eight carries for 61 yards. Lance McCutcheon had seven receptions for 121 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown. North Carolina State quarterback Matthew McKay says he has entered his name in the transfer portal. The redshirt sophomore announced his plans in a social media post Sunday. He started the first five games before being replaced by Bailey Hockman, who was later replaced by Devin Leary as the Wolfpack struggled to find consistency at the position. McKay completed 86 of 150 passes for 910 yards and three touchdowns with one interception, though he struggled to connect downfield. N.C. State (4-8, 1-7 Atlant ic Coast Conference) closed the season with Saturday's 41-10 loss to rival North Carolina and missed a bowl for the first time since 2013. - AP College Football
