As Memphis prepares to start spring practice on Thursday, the Tigers added one more transfer to help up front. TCU offensive lineman Austin Myers announced Tuesday on Twitter that he committed to the Tigers. Myers entered the transfer portal in January after playing in six games last season and 32 games in four seasons with 18 starts. The 6-foot-5, 290 pound Myers has one year of eligibility remaining. He's also the sixth transfer the Tigers have added this offseason from a school in a Power Five conference. Myers was a versatile lineman during his stint with the Horned Frogs. Last season, he started three games at left tackle and two games at right guard before not playing in the team's final four games. - Memphis Commercial Appeal

  01/27/21 - OG Austin MyersrSr/2023, Memphis, 6-5, 306 (DS#80 OG) + More +

Austin Myers won't return to TCU football next season after all. A week after it looked like Myers would be taking advantage of an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA to fall sports athletes amid the coronavirus pandemic at TCU, Myers entered the NCAA transfer portal this week. Myers is the 15th player to enter the transfer portal from TCU's 2020 opening-day roster. The Frogs have lost four offensive lineman to the portal who started at least one game last season, including Myers, Quazzel White, Kellton Hollins and T.J. Storment. Myers is a versatile lineman who played tackle and guard in his time at TCU. He opened last season as the Frogs' starting left tackle, playing the first three games there. He then started two games at right guard before missing the final four games. - Fort Worth Star
