2022 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: Owen Wright, Monmouth, FB/HB, Gr.,...Wright earns First Team All-CAA honors at the fullback position after leading the CAA in touchdowns with 17, including 16 rushing scores. Wright finished with the fourth most touchdow ns among all players in Division I and recorded a season-long run of 99 yards in a win over UAlbany. Owen Wright scored three touchdowns for the second straight week to spark Monmouth to a 45-6 rout of Georgetown on Saturday, earning the Hawks their first win in three starts this season. Jaden Shirden ran for 299 yards a week ago in a 52-49 loss to Ford ham. He followed that effort with 139 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries against the Hoyas, scoring on a 67-yard dash in the third quarter. Monmouth (1-2) rushed for 202 yards and scored five touchdowns on the ground. Tony Muskett threw for 243 yards on 19-for-30 passing, including a 14-yard touchdown pass to Wright. Patrick Ryan kicked first-half field goals from 28 and 38 yards out to account for Georgetown's scoring. Pierce Holley was 21-of-38 passing for 191 yards, but Georgetown (1-2) was held to just 60 yards on 28 carries. - AP College Football

Owen Wright ran into the end zone in the fifth overtime to give William & Mary a 31-29 victory over Elon in a wild finish on Saturday. In the final OT, quarterback Hollis Mathis ran the ball then pitched it to Wright, who ran untouched to complete the 2- point play. Elon's Davis Cheek threw an incomplete pass to Cole Taylor in the end zone to end the game. The teams were scoreless in the first, second and fourth overtimes. Each scored a touchdown and missed the 2-point conversion in the third extra perio d. Wright ran for 113 yards and a touchdown, and Mathis threw for 176 yards and a score. Donavyn Lester added a pair of touchdown runs for the Tribe (3-6, 1-4 Colonial Athletic Association), who committed a turnover and missed two field goals in the extr a periods. Skyler Davis made three second half field goals for Elon (4-5, 3-3 Colonial Athletic Association), but missed three attempts in the extra periods. Owen Wright ran for two touchdowns, William & Mary scored 24 points in the third quarter, and the Tribe defeated Lafayette 30-17 on Saturday in Mike London's debut as their coach. After Wright scored on a 4-yard run with a two-point conversion, William & Mary led 14-10 early in the third quarter. Lafayette fumbled on its next three possessions and the Tribe capitalized with another 16 points. Jake Johnston kicked a 21-yard field goal, Wright scored on an 11-yard run and quarterback Hollis Mathis added a 3-yard TD run. Mathis completed 6 of 13 passes for 66 yards and rushed for 127 yards on 16 carries. Wright gained 63 yards and the Tribe totaled 255 yards rushing among 418 total yards.Lafayette freshman quarterback Keegan Shoemaker connected wit h John Gay on a 26-yard touchdown pass with 4:42 remaining in the game. Shoemaker passed for 127 yards, as did starting quarterback Cole Northrup, who was also the Leopards' leading rusher with 39 yards. London spent the past two seasons as head coach at Howard. He previously coached at Richmond, when the Spiders won the 2008 FCS national championship, and was head coach at Virginia 2010-2015. - AP College Football
