  OCT 4 STATS FCS NATIONAL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jahari Kay, Sam Houston, DE, Sr., 6-2, 260, Berkley, California,...With Sam Houston held below 300 yards, Kay and the defense led the defending FCS champ until the offense rallied past rival Stephen F. Austin 21-20 in the AQ7. He finished with eight tackles (six solos), including 2.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also forced a fumble late in the game and had two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup.   MARCH 15 SOUTHLAND DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jahari Kay, Sam Houston, Senior, Defensive End, Berkeley, Calif.,...Kay had a hand in each of the Bearkats' two defensive scores, in addition to making six tackles and 2.5 sacks. He forced two fumbles on the day, the second leading to a 79-yard touchdown return by teammate Trevor Williams in the second half. Kay was also a part of the biggest play of the day when teammate Kameryn Alexander dislodged a pass from Lindsey Scott to a Colonel receiver and Kay picked it off, racing 24 yards to the end zone for a score that gave the Kats a 24-7 lead.
