2021 ALL-SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): WR Dai'Jean Dixon, Nicholls, Sr., New Orleans, La.,...A Walter Payton Award finalist, Dixon turned in his second 1,000-yard season at wide receiver and led the Southland with 100.2 yards per ga me. He ranked fourth in the FCS in receptions (71) and was sixth in yards per game. Dixon finished with eight touchdown catches and four 100-yard games, including a record performance against nationally-ranked Louisiana where he had 14 receptions for 198 yards. - Nicholls Football

Lindsey Scott Jr. threw two of his three touchdown passes to Dai'Jean Dixon, Julien Gums had 36 carries for 156 yards and a score, and Nicholls beat Northwestern State 31-24 on Saturday night. Nicholls (3-0, 2-0 Southland Conference), ranked No. 7 in the STATS FCS poll, is off to its best start since the 1986 season. Scott was 21-of-33 passing for 299 yards with an interception. Dixon finished with seven receptions for 115 yards. Dixon had a 6-yard TD catch late in the first quarter to give the Colonels the lead for good and his 1-yard scoring reception about three minutes later made it 21-7. Aubrey Scott had nine carries for 119 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run, and Scooter Adams scored on a 58-yard run for Northwestern State (0-1, 0-1). - Ni cholls/AP College Football

2020 PHIL STEELE/DRAFTSCOUT PRESEASON ALL-FCS FOURTH TEAM: WR Dai'Jean Dixon, Nicholls, Sr.,...Dixon garnered his first preseason All-American after a historic junior campaign where he became the first Colonel since 1986 to record over 1,000 yards receiv ing. He missed 5.5 games with an injury and still had the second-most receiving yards in the Southland with 1,044 on 54 receptions. His 116.0 yards per game was second-best in the FCS, helped by five 100-yard games. His best outing was in the River Bell Classic victory at Southeastern Louisiana where he totaled 190 yards and three touchdowns. - Nicholls Football

Avera ging an astounding 122.3 yards per game this season, Dixon had three 100-yard outings in his four conference games and totaled six touchdowns on the year. In his last two games, Dixon had 185 yards against McNeese and followed up with a career-high 190 a nd three touchdowns in the River Bell Classic at Southeastern Louisiana. - Nicholls Football

NOV 25 SOUTHLAND OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dai'Jean Dixon, Nicholls, Jr., Wide Receiver, New Orleans, La.,...Dixon had a career night against Southeastern Louisiana, hauling in nine receptions for 190 yards and three touchdowns. With Nicholls trailin g in the final two minutes in the winner-take-all matchup, Dixon caught a 57-yard touchdown pass that tied the game before the extra point gave the Colonels the lead. Earlier in the contest, Nicholls fell behind 14-0 before Dixon broke free for a 48-yard touchdown in the second quarter. He then followed up with a highlight 2-yard grab that tied the game before halftime. Dixon, who is averaging 122.3 yards in his seven games played, set a new career-high for the second straight week, besting his eight gr abs for 185 last week against McNeese.
