2021 ALL-SUN BELT THIRD TEAM (COACHES): OL - Trey Carter, Coastal Carolina (Super Sr., OL - Monroeville, Ala.),...One of just two players in Sun Belt history to be a five-time All-Sun Belt honoree, Carter received third-team accolades this season after b eing named to the first team in 2020, the third team in 2019, and an honorable mention in both 2017 and 2018. Carter has played in and started 60-straight games, every game since redshirting as a true freshman in 2016. He has been the leader up front all season long for an offensive line team that has been named to the Joe Moore Award list each of the last two years.The two-time team captain is part of the offensive line unit that leads the way for an offense that leads the nation in third-down c onversion percentage (54.1) and team passing efficiency (190.63). The Chants lead the Sun Belt in third-down conversion percentage (54.1), fourth-down conversion percentage (75.0), completion percentage (70.2), first downs gained (287), fewest intercepti ons thrown (4), passing yards per completion (15.33), rushing offense (231.2), scoring offense (40.4), and total offense (493.1). Coastal Carolina super seniors Trey Carter and C.J. Brewer were both named to the 2021 Outland Trophy preseason watch list, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced today. The preseason watch list consists of 80 returning standout int erior linemen representing all 10 Division I FBS conferences and independents. The 2021 season continues a celebration of the award's 75th anniversary. The recipient of the 2021 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN in December.The official presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 12, 2022. A four-year star ter on the offensive line, Carter enters the 2021 season having made 48-straight starts dating back to the 2017 season. The veteran is a four-time All-Sun Belt selection, having worked his way up from honorable mention in both 2017 and 2018 to the third team in 2019 and finally the first team in 2020. - Coastal Carolina Football

2020 ALL-SUN BELT CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM: Trey Carter, Coastal Carolina, OL,...A fifth-year senior and co-captain, Carter has played in and started 47-straight games dating back to the 2017 season. The leader up front for the Chants, Carter has helped the offense rank first in the Sun Belt in scoring (37.5 ppg), second in total yards per game (446.8), second in total yards on the season (4,915), third in rushing (223.2 ypg), and fifth in passing yards on the year (2,460). 2019 ALL-SUN BELT THIRD TEAM (COACHES): Trey Carter, Coastal Carolina (Jr., OL, Monroeville, Ala.),...A two-time All-Sun Belt honorable mention selection that last two years, the 2019 Rimington Trophy watch list member earned third-team honors this seaso n. Carter, who played in and started all 12 games upfront for CCU this season, has played in and started all 36 games over the last three years. One of two offensive captains, Carter played both at the center and right guard positions this season for the CCU offense which recorded over 400 yards of total offense four times, including a season-high 636 yards in the road win at UMass on Sept. 21.Carter graded out as the top offensive lineman for CCU in 11 of the 12 games this season. He had a team- high 14 knockdowns in the road win at Kansas, the Chants' first-ever win over a Power 5 opponent, 12 in the home win over Troy and 11 more in the road contest at Arkansas State. Behind Carter and the offensive line unit, the Chants were 23-for-29 (79.3 p ercent) on fourth-down attempts which is the second-best percentage in the Sun Belt and third nationally. 2019 PRESEASON RIMINGTON TROPHY CANDIDATE: Trey Carter, Coastal Carolina,...Both a 2019 Phil Steele and Athlon Sports preseason All-Sun Belt fourth team selection, Carter has started 24-straight games entering the 2019 season. Named All-Sun Belt honorabl e mention in each of the last two years (2017 and 2018), the Alabama native played in and started all 12 games at center for the Chants.He was a vital part of the offensive unit up front that led the CCU rushing attack to rank fourth in the Sun Be lt and 41st nationally with an average of 198.7 rushing yards per game and helped to lead the way for the Chants offense to total 574 offensive yards in the win at Campbell (Sept. 12), the most for a CCU offense in a single game since 2015.
