Michael Brescia scored his second rushing touchdown with 1:27 remaining as Colgate scored the final 13 points to rally past Lafayette 20-13 on Saturday. Brescia opened the scoring with a 64-yard touchdown run and he capped an 11-play, 79-yard drive that took nearly five minutes off the clock. Lafayette went 11 plays on its final possession and had three plays inside of Colgate's 40, but the game ended on an Ah-Shaun Davis incompletion. Brescia was also 9-of-15 passing for 144 yards with an interception for Colgate (4-6, 4-1 Patriot). He was named the league's rookie of the week after leading Colgate to 33 points in his first collegiate start on Oct. 30 before a bye week. Jaden Sutton rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown, and Selwyn Simpson added 63 yar ds rushing and a score for Lafayette (3-7, 2-3). - AP College Football

Michael Brescia and John Cox both ran for two touchdowns and Colgate dominated the second half, pulling away for a 33-10 victory over Bucknell in Patriot League action on Saturday. After Bucknell grabbed a 3-0 lead on Ryan Schatzel's 24-yard field goal 3 seconds into the second quarter, Brescia started a run of 33 unanswered points when he scored on a 28-yard run with 4:27 left before halftime. Cox had a 19-yard TD run early in the third quarter and Brescia scored from a yard out to give the Raiders (3- 6, 3-1) a 20-3 lead heading into the final quarter.Cox and Ethan Malachi West had short TD runs in the fourth before Bucknell scored on Nick Semptimphelter's 4-yard toss to Mason Muir with 54 seconds left to play. Brescia finished with 75 yards ru shing on 13 carries and he also completed 13 of 15 passes for 162 yards. Cox carried nine times for 50 yards as Colgate piled up 235 yards on the ground. Garrett Oakey had five receptions for 84 yards. Freshman Ethan Grady was 10-of-24 passing for 118 ya rds for the Bison (1-7, 0-4), while Semptimphelter completed 5 of 7 for 66 yards. Backup Harry Kirk connected with Garrett Oakey on the go-ahead touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter and Colgate beat Georgetown 28-21 on Saturday. Oakey's second touchdown catch of the day, a 25-yarder, came with just over three minutes into the fi nal quarter and led to the Raiders' 17th win in 18 all-time meetings with the Hoyas (1-3, 0-1 Patriot League), who haven't beaten Colgate (2-3, 2-0) since 2011. Oakley caught a 20-yarder from Grant Breneman for the game's first score and finished with 12 3 yards on five catches. Breneman was 13-of-17 passing for 173 yards while Kirk was 3 of 4 for 36. Georgetown scored with just over a minute in the first half on an 8-yard run by Jackson Saffold and Joshua Stakeley added a 1-yard score with minutes remai ning in the third quarter to tie the game at 21-all. The Hoyas' final possession began with 1:32 left but ended with an interception. Georgetown's Pierce Holley was 20 of 28 for 206 yards and an interception. - AP College Football

Grant Breneman threw a touchdown pass and ran for 119 yards and a score and the Colgate defense did the rest as the Raiders cruised to a 30-3 victory over Lehigh in a Patriot League opener on Saturday. Breneman opened the scoring with a 9-yard TD run on Colgate's first possession. The two-play, 27-yard drive was set up when Collin Heard intercepted Dante Perri's first pass of the game. The Raiders (1-3, 1-0) pushed their lead to 14-0 on their second possession - scoring on Garrett Oakey's 9-yard run. Dy lan Van Dusen pulled the Mountain Hawks (0-4, 0-1) within 14-3 with a 32-yard field goal early in the second quarter, but Jacob Jaworski answered with a 27-yard field and Breneman connected with Myles Bradley for a 20-yard TD to make it 24-3 at halftime. Jaworski added field goals of 34 and 40 yards in the second half. Perri completed 13 of 19 passes for 46 yards with one pick for Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks were held to 55 yards on 26 carries, finishing with only 101 yards of offense. Breneman was 14-of -24 passing for 169 yards for Colgate. Grant Breneman and Malik Twyman ran for touchdowns and Colgate defeated Lafayette 16-0 on Saturday, closing out the season with three consecutive conference wins. Colgate defeated Lafayette for the fifth consecutive time, the last three via shutout. The Raiders (4-8, 3-3 Patriot League) won despite picking up only 11 first downs and 224 yards on offense. Lafayette had 16 first downs and 242 yards on offense. The loss drops the Leopards (3-8, 3-2) out of a tie for first place in the conference. Holy Cros s (4-1) defeated Fordham 49-27 and now has sole possession of first place. Breneman scored on a 1-yard run late in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead, Twyman had an 11-yard TD run in the third quarter and Chris Puzzi made a 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. - AP College Football

Colgate (10-1, 6-0 PL in '18) received 72 points and 12 first-place votes to finish the atop the 2019 Patriot League Preseason Poll. The Raiders claimed the Patriot League title during a historic 2018 season that saw them tie the FCS single-season record with five shutouts and lead the nation in total defense (237.7) and scoring defense (9.3) on their way to an FCS Quarterfinal matchup against eventual national champion North Dakota State.
