Hunter Rison is no longer a member of Kansas State's football program. And he hasn't been for nearly a month. K-State head coach Chris Klieman said Tuesday that he isn't second guessing the move. "Those are always difficult decisions to make, but I think we collectively got together (with) our administration and felt like it was the right thing to do," Klieman said at Big 12 Media Days. "We'll move forward with the guys we have." After an arrest on a domestic battery charge April 19, Klieman indefinitel y suspended Rison, a rising third-year sophomore wide receiver. On June 18, Rison posted a message on Twitter, writing that he had entered his name into the NCAA's transfer portal after he and K-State "mutually decided" to part ways. Rison has sinc e transferred to Fullerton College, a community college in Fullerton, California. Last week in Riley County District Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of battery. Rison received a 30-day jail sentence and immediate probation, which is scheduled to en d Dec. 19 should Rison he meet the terms of the agreement. Klieman said he wasn't given any notice that Rison's guilty plea was forthcoming when the receiver and the Wildcats went their separate ways last month. "I just felt in my gut it was the right th ing to do," Klieman said. - Manhattan Mercury

Hunter Rison, a former wide receiver with the Kansas State football team, pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor battery during a criminal pretrial conference Wednesday in Riley County District Court. The plea came as part of an agreement with judge Grant Bannister in which Rison will serve a 30-day jail sentence followed by probation. If Rison meets the terms of the plea deal, his probation will end on Dec. 19, according to court documents. Bannister has also ordered Rison to have no contact with t he victim or the victim's family of this case, according to the Manhattan Mercury. Furthermore, Rison will not be allowed to follow the victim on social media platforms or use any of his social media accounts to deny or attempt to mitigate responsibility for his guilt in the incident, according to the paper. - The Wichita Eagle

Former Michigan State receiver Hunter Rison has found a new home. Rison, who revealed this month his plans to transfer after he was suspended indefinitely in April at Kansas State following an arrest for an alleged domestic battery incident, tweeted on S unday he'll play next season at Fullerton College, a community college in Fullerton, California. "I appreciate everyone that has reached out to me during this process," Rison tweeted, adding the hashtag #BounceBack. Rison, who starred at Ann Arbor Skyline, was suspended indefinitely in April at Kansas State for a "violation of team and department policy." Kansas State didn't specify the reason for his suspension, but according to the Manhattan Mercury, it followed his arrest for suspicion of "dom estic battery/knowing or reckless bodily to family/person in dating relationship." - The Detroit News
