2021 ALL-BIG 12 HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Josh Sills (OLoY),...In total, Oklahoma State had 13 people earn either a Big 12 award or earn a spot on the first or second team all-conference squad. 13 honorees in a single season is the third-most in Cowboy football history, trailing only the 2010 and 2011 seasons. - Oklahoma State Football

Sills is an example of how the transfer portal works well and helps players who want a new challenge or a fresh start. Despite the crazy season of Covid, Sills started every game for OSU in 2020, six times at left guard, once at left tackle and four games at right tackle. Sills had made 24 starts for West Virginia but was sidelined by injury much of the 2019 season and already had been granted a sixth year of eligibility when he arrived in Stillwater. So Sills is back for the 2021 season. Sills' description of the portal experience: "I loved it. Loved every second of it. I'm beyond thankful to being in the position I am, for Coach (Gundy) and everybody else giving me the opportunity to play here." Sills even treasures the portal recruiting process, for how it molded him. December was a dead period, so he was not allowed in-person recruiting trips. "The biggest thing for me, it kind of taught me a lot about myself, as far as how to build relationships with people you couldn't necessarily see face to face," Sills said. "I kind of had to go based on what people said and just kind of get a feel for it." - Daily Oklahoman

Amongst the growing list of Oklahoma State football players declaring for the NFL Draft or the transfer portal, the Cowboys got some good news at a position that was plagued by injuries this past season. Redshirt senior Josh Sills, a graduate transfer from West Virginia who became a leader along the offensive line this season, officially announced he would be returning to the program for the 2021 season. Sills started all 11 games for the Cowboys, but due to the injuries along the line, he was shuffled throughout the line during the second half of the season. - Enid News & Eagle

Oklahoma State continues to find success on the graduate transfer market by identifying players who can blend in with the program quickly and seamlessly. In a previous press conference, OSU coach Mike Gundy raved about how well grad transfer Christian Holmes from Missouri had found his fit with the team. And on Monday, Gundy had similar comments about offensive lineman Josh Sills, who came in from West Virginia in the winter. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound Sills is set to start at left guard. "He fits into our culture," Gundy said. "He enjoys living in Stillwater. He likes to hunt and do outdoor activities. His attitude, his willingness to be a part of the team, compete - he's not scared to work. We're thrilled to have him. We're excited about the maturity he brings to our team. "He's fun to be around. He fits into our Cowboy culture. He's been a good addition to our football team." - Daily Oklahoman
