  2021 ALL-CONFERENCE USA HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): K: Nick Rice, Sr., Old Dominion,...Rice set a school record with 19 field goals on the year, including a 46-yard game-winner as time expired to give the Monarchs a 23-20 win over Louisiana Tech. He also kicked a career-long 50-yarder in the win at FIU. He holds the ODU record for career field goals made with 63. Rice was also 37-of-39 on extra points this season. - Old Dominion Football

  Nick Rice kicked three second-half field goals and Old Dominion scored on two first-half safeties en route to a 30-16 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday. With the Owls up 3-0 in the first quarter, Marcus Haynes sacked N'Kosi Perry in the end zone for a first-quarter safety. Perry was flagged for intentional grounding in the end zone with 4:06 left in the first half for a second safety and Blake Watson ran 11 yards in the final minute of the half to send Old Dominion into intermission with an 11-3 advantage.

Rice converted from 30 and 28 yards out in the third quarter, while Perry threw a 59-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Robinson, and the Monarchs' lead was 17-10. Rice kicked a 20-yarder at the start of the fourth quarter to make it 20-10. Hayden Wolff was 21-of-33 passing for 289 yards and a touchdown for Old Dominion (4-6, 3-3 Conference USA), while Watson finished with 163 yards on 23 carries. Johnny Ford carried 19 times for 101 yards to lead Florida Atlantic (5-5, 3-3). Perry completed 12 of 21 pass attempts for 187 yards. - Old Dominion/AP College Football

  NOV 1 CONFERENCE USA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Old Dominion K Nick Rice was 3-for-3 on field goals, including the game-winning 46-yarder as time expired, in ODU's 23-20 win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday. Rice connected on kicks of 36, 29 and 46 in ODU's victory, the team's first in conference play since 2018.   Nick Rice kicked a pair of field goals in the last two minutes and his 46-yarder as time expired carried Old Dominion past Louisiana Tech 23-20 on Saturday. Louisiana Tech took a 20-17 lead on Marcus Williams' 7-yard run that ended a five-play, 43-yard drive with 12:01 left to play. Rice's 29-yard boot with 1:52 left knotted it at 20, and after forcing the Bulldogs to turn it over on downs, ODU (2-6, 1-3 Conference USA) drove 26 yards in five plays to set up Rice's game-winner. LaMareon James' 100-yard kickoff return just before halftime gave the Monarchs a 10-7 lead with 58 seconds before halftime. Hayden Wolff threw for 149 yards and a touchdown for Old Dominion and Blake Watson ran for 108 yards on 25 carries.
