Running back Malik Miller will not be returning to the Auburn football team this fall for his redshirt senior season. The news was reported Tuesday by AuburnSports.com. Miller served primarily as a third-down back and a goal-line option for Auburn in recent seasons. He finished his Auburn career with six touchdowns. Miller signed with Auburn as a touted prospect out of Madison Academy in Huntsville. He scored two red-zone touchdowns in Auburn's win at Ole Miss in 2018. He caught another score later in the season on a trick-play pass from Ryan Davis at Alabama. - Opelika-Auburn News

  07/14/20 - RB Malik Miller, rSr/2022, Auburn, 5-11, 235 (DS#999 RB) + More +

Auburn's running back room has incurred its second loss of the offseason, as veteran reserve Malik Miller won't be returning to the team for his redshirt-senior season, a source confirmed to AL.com. A former three-star prospect out of Madison Academy, where he starred in the backfield alongside Kerryon Johnson in high school, Miller appeared in 34 games over the last four seasons while being used primarily in a niche role out of the backfield and as the Tigers' third-down back. He finished his Auburn career with 81 carries for 314 yards and five rushing touchdowns. He also totaled 20 receptions for 217 yards, added a receiving score in 2018 and a touchdown on a recovered blocked punt in 2017. It is unclear if Miller plans to seek a grad transfer opportunity, and his name is not currently in the transfer portal, according to a source. - Birmingham News
