Syracuse football running backs Abdul Adams and Jarveon Howard have resumed team activities, a team spokesman confirmed Monday afternoon. The Orange played without two of its premier running backs in 2020 after the duo opted out for coronavirus-related r easons, although a thorough explanation was never given by the players or coach Dino Babers. Adams, a redshirt senior, played the first 11 games of the 2019 season and finished third on the team in rushing with 336 yards on 87 carries. He tied for second - with Howard - on the team with three rushing touchdowns. He also had 15 receptions for 141 yards. - The Post-Standard

Syracuse running backs Abdul Adams and Jarveon Howard have opted out of the 2020 season, a source told The Post-Standard/syracuse.com. Adams and Howard, who had been projected to be the team's top two running backs this year, have not practiced with the team throughout training camp. Jawhar Jordan and Markenzy Pierre will now lead the group. The news, first reported by The Athletic, does not come as a surprise. Coach Dino Babers has been cagey when asked about the status of Adams and Howard. Neither pla yer was listed on the depth chart earlier this week. - The Post-Standard
