2020 ALL-SUN BELT CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM: Jeremiah Haydel, Texas State, All Purpose & Return Specialist,...Haydel ranks third nationally in combined kick return yards with 674. He is the only Sun Belt Conference player to have single 100-yard games in re ceiving, kickoff returns, and punt returns. Additionally, he is the only Sun Belt player to return a kickoff and punt return for a touchdown and has the longest punt return in the nation with a 91-yard return against UTSA. His 164-kickoff return yards at Georgia Southern are the nation's seventh-highest total and included a 97-yard return for a TD. - Texas State Football

While the season may be over for Texas State football, the losses continue to pile up. Ten players announced their intentions to place their names in the NCAA transfer portal this week, along with star receiver Jeremiah Haydel announcing that he will ent er the NFL Draft. Haydel, a senior, had one year left after the NCAA ruled this season wouldn't count toward eligibility due to COVID-19 restrictions, allowing all seniors to return. Haydel scored six touchdowns this season – four receiving, one kickof f return and one punt return. He tied with Marcell Barbee for the team lead in receptions this season with 40 grabs for 408 yards. Haydel completes his Bobcat career with 96 receptions for 1,141 yards and 11 total touchdowns. - Austin American-Statesman

NOV 16 SUN BELT SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jeremiah Haydel, Texas State,...Returned four kickoffs for 164 yards and a touchdown at Georgia Southern. He averaged 41.0 yards per return, which ranks as the second-best game total in the Sun Belt Confe rence this season. His first return was for 97 yards and a touchdown to tie the score at 7-7. It also is the second-longest return in the Sun Belt this season. His 164 kickoff return yards are the most yards in a game by a Sun Belt player this season.
