2020 ALL-BIG TEN FOOTBALL THIRD TEAM (COACHES): Center Michal Menet, Penn State,...Will Fries (41 career starts), Michal Menet (33), Walker (21) and Miranda (17) have started all eight games on the Nittany Lion offensive line this season. The unit helped the Nittany Lion offense to gain 488 yards, including 250 on the ground, in the season opener at Indiana. At Nebraska, the offensive line paved the way for the Nittany Lions to gain 501 yards, including 245 on the ground. Penn State then toped that mark the following week at Rutgers, as the line led the way for the Nittany Lions to rush for 248 yards, their fourth 245-plus yard rushing game of the season. - Penn State Football

Menet will line up between Miranda and Thorpe and is a lock to play every game if he's healthy. He was the Nittany Lions' most consistent offensive lineman in the 2019 season and has taken over as one of the leaders of the room after last season's only senior starter, Steven Gonzalez, finished his Penn State career. He used his leadership position to help new offensive line coach Phil Trautwein transition to Penn State. "It was very important for me to establish with him," Menet said in a teleconference with the media in May. "I've been around for a little while and become one of the leaders of the room. If I'm not bought in, it would've been a little bit harder for him to transition to coaching (us)."

The 6-foot-4, 302-pound center was the No. 1 offensive guard in the 247Sports Composite player rankings in the 2016 class and has excelled in his move further inside. He's a high-level athlete for the position and moves well in the run game when he has to get downfield. Menet's at his best inside because he doesn't have great length, but his intelligence and leadership make him an ideal player to call out the team's protections, just as he did last season. He's in a good spot to improve on his status as an honorable mention on the coaches' and media's All-Big Ten teams. - Centre Times

2019 PRESEASON RIMINGTON TROPHY CANDIDATE: Michal Menet, Penn State,...Menet started 12 games at center in 2018. He helped the Penn State offense finish 16th in red zone offense (.923), 29th in rushing offense (208.6) and 29th in scoring offense (34.6) in FBS in 2018. Additionally, the Nittany Lions posted their highest rushing average (204.9) since 2008 (205.8), led by second-team All-Big Ten selection Miles Sanders.

Menet blocked for Trace McSorley, who became Penn State's all-time passing leader and wins as a starting quarterback, finishing his career with 9,899 yards and 77 touchdowns. Menet opened up holes for Sanders, who posted the 26th 1,000-yard rushing season in program history, finishing with 1,274 yards to rank 11th on the single-season chart. Sanders also became the 28th player in program history to rush for 200 yards against Illinois (9/21/18). - Penn State Football
