The Oregon secondary is losing yet another starter. Brady Breeze, who had a breakout second half to the 2019 season en route to earning Rose Bowl defensive MVP accolades, is opting out of the 2020 season and declaring for the NFL draft. Despite serving a s a backup for the first eight games last season, Breeze had a career-high 62 tackles, two interceptions, three fumble returns including a touchdown, three pass breakups and a forced fumble. He made 40 of those tackles, both interceptions, two of his thr ee fumble returns, three pass breakups and forced a fumble during the final six games and took over as the starter at boundary safety. Breeze was expected to start for the Ducks this fall, but instead becomes the fifth Oregon player to opt out. - The Ore gonian

From way, way down the depth chart in the spring of 2019, to making his first start at USC to becoming one of the most disruptive defenders in the country during the last month of the season, Breeze was other-worldly. He made 40 of his career-high 62 tac kles, all of his three interceptions, two of his three fumble returns including a touchdown in the Rose Bowl, three pass breakups and a forced fumble all in the final six games.A fraction of those numbers could be viewed as fluky or happenstance, but in such mass there is no way to understate what Breeze was able to do down the stretch. The challenge for Breeze this season, whatever it might entail, will be in matching that production over the course of however many games are scheduled. A lot cha nges in an offseason in terms of film study and opposing offensive coordinators, who had little to go off of in terms of Breeze's tendencies, now have a vast library to review compared to a year ago. - The Oregonian

As Brady Breeze ascended late in 2019, so too did Oregon's defense. If the redshirt-senior safety continues to produce at the level he did in the second half of last season, he'll be one of the most productive defensive backs in the Power 5 and an All-Am erican candidate. It's been a remarkable rise for Breeze, who was buried on the depth chart entering the spring in 2019 and didn't even start until the USC game last season but is now among the Ducks' best players. By the end of last season there was lit tle that could stop Breeze from making game-changing plays. He made 40 of by far his career-high 62 tackles in the final six games, both of his three interceptions, two of his three fumble returns including a touchdown in the Rose Bowl, three pass breaku ps and a forced fumble. Extrapolating that level of production of a full season leads to mind-blowing sorts of figures and ordinarily would be easily dismissed as unrealistic, but at this point there's nothing Breeze can do that would surprise anyone any more. Having said all that, he can still develop and refine his game to become a sure-fire NFL draft pick. - The Oregonian
