From his name to his family pedigree to his fiery pregame persona, Tuf Borland was born to be a middle linebacker. His lasting legacy at Ohio State - textbook leadership by example - came just as naturally. His mother, Jeny, remembers Borland talking abo ut a high school classmate who looked a decade younger than everyone in his grade. Later, she learned that when no one else sat by that student, Borland took the initiative to befriend him. It was not the first time he had helped a classmate with a disab ility or who was struggling in the classroom. "Tuf is one of those people that it comes to naturally - he's just a leader," OSU center Josh Myers said. "It could be finger painting and he would be a leader at that somehow. That's just who he is. He is ab solutely a leader of the linebacker room, but he is of the whole team as well." - Cleveland Plain Dealer
