OCT 28 GLIAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Isaiah Nkansah, Grand Valley State,...Nkansah tallied a game-high 13 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss (-12) and a QB sack (-8) in Grand Valley State's 27-7 victory over Davenport in a Saturday night monsoon at Lubb ers Stadium. Nkansah was a key figure in a defense that recorded 11.0 tackles for loss (-67) and six QB sacks(-41), holding Davenport to 161 yards of total offense. In addition, the Laker defense forced three turnovers. SEPT 16 GLIAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Isaiah Nikansah, Grand Valley,...Grand Valley State senior Isaiah Nkansah recorded a career-high and the third-best, single-game total tackle in GVSU football history with 20 stops (6 solo/14 assisted), while a dding two tackles for loss (-10) and two QB sacks (-10) in the Lakers 28-24 comeback win over Delta State. Nkansah played a key role in the Lakers? defense holding Delta State to three consecutive field goal attempts (2 missed/1 blocked) and a fourth qua rter goal line stand from the 1-yard line that netted -3 yards. His two QB sacks came at crucial times, the second on a third down when DSU needed a first down to keep a drive alive late in the fourth quarter.
