2020 NFL COMBINE INVITE: Aaron Parker, WR, Rhode Island,...Parker, one of the best offensive weapons in program history, led the CAA in receptions (81), receiving yards (1,224), receiving yards per game (102.0) and receptions per game (6.8) during the re gular season. He was fourth in the country in total receiving yards and averaged 15.1 yards per catch. Parker had nine touchdown catches, the final of which gave him 30 in his storied career. Vito Priore threw a touchdown strike to Aaron Parker late in the fourth quarter that gave Rhode Island the edge it needed to defeat Brown 31-28 on Saturday. The Rams (1-4) trailed by four when Priore capped a late 63-yard drive with a 14-yard scoring pas s to Parker for a 31-28 lead with 5:43 left to play. Following the kickoff, the defense held Brown to 14 yards and a single first down, forced a punt and Rhode Island ran out the clock.Priore finished with a career-high 389 yards passing with thre e touchdowns. Zoe Bryant Jr. ran for 63 yards and a score, Isaiah Coulter had 171 yards receiving and a score and Parker had 87 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns. Rhode Island led 17-14 at halftime and stretched it to 24-14 in the third quarter on Bryant's 7-yard scoring run. But the Bears (1-2) answered with two touchdown runs by Allen Smith early in the fourth to move ahead 28-24 with 8:20 to play. SEPT 9 CAA FOOTBALL CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Aaron Parker, Sr., WR, Rhode Island (Prince George’s Co., Md./Gwynn Park),...Parker set career-highs with 12 receptions for 227 yards and a TD in Rhode Island’s triple OT setback to Delaware. It wa s the most catches by a URI player since 1994 and the 5th-most receiving yards in school history. Nine of his 12 grabs went for a first down and his 24-yard TD catch gave the Rams a 19-14 lead in the fourth quarter. The 227 yards are the 2nd-most by any player in FCS in 2019. - CAA Football
