Florida State cornerback Stanford Samuels III is forgoing his final year of eligibility to begin his professional career. The junior from Pembroke Pines announced on his Instagram Thursday that he will is leaving FSU early and declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft."I want to thank God for the opportunities and abilities he has given me. I owe a huge thank you to my mom, dad, grandparents, uncles and aunties for all their support," Samuels III said in his Instagram post.

Samuels, an FSU legacy whose dad played for the Seminoles from 1998 through 2003, arrived at FSU as a highly-touted four-star recruit, the No. 38 overall recruit and No. 4 cornerback in the 2017 class. He's played in all 37 FSU games during his time at FSU, starting in the secondary each of the last two seasons. His eight interceptions over the last three seasons are five more than any other Seminole over the same span. - The Tallahassee Democrat
