  Devon Cooley had 114 yards receiving and a touchdown, David Ames had 105 yards receiving, and No. 3 seed Weber State beat Kennesaw State 26-20 in the second round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday. The Wildcats (10-3) advanced to the quarterfinals and will face sixth-seeded Montana. Weber State was able to run out the clock after forcing a four-and-out with 1:45 left in the game, capped by Adam Rodriguez's sack of Kennesaw State's Jonathan Murphy.

The Wildcats took control early in the third quarter when Murphy fumbled at the end of a 45-yard carry and Rodriguez recovered and returned it for a touchdown. That gave Weber State a 19-17 lead, and Josh Davis' 2-yard TD run extended the lead to 26-17 in the middle of the quarter. Jake Constantine passed for 234 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Weber State. Murphy passed for 23 yards and a touchdown and ran 30 times for 116 yards and a TD for Kennesaw State (11-3). - AP College Football

  With three weeks left in the regular season, the Big Sky Conference has four teams ranked in the top 15 of the STATS FCS and AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25 polls. Weber State (7-2) picked up a huge win and its fifth straight after a 36-17 victory at then-No. 6 Sacramento State. Weber State remains in the No. 3 spot in the STATS FCS and AFCA FCS Coaches' polls, as it's the lone undefeated team left in conference play. The Wildcats will host No. 22 North Dakota (5-3) on Saturday in Ogden. Montana (7-2) earned a 38-23 road win at Portland State on Saturday. The victory helped the Griz crack the top 5 in the AFCA Coaches' Poll and has them slated No. 6. In the STATS FCS Poll.   Kevin Smith had 16 carries for 108 yards, the Weber State defense had four interceptions, and the Wildcats beat Southern Utah 29-14 on Saturday night. Kaden Jenks was 13-of-22 passing for 132 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown pass to David Ames that gave Weber State the lead for good with 5:28 left in the third quarter. B.J. Taufalele returned an interception 22 yards to the Southern Utah 38 to set up the go-ahead touchdown.

The Thunderbirds (1-6, 0-3 Big Sky Conference) were forced to punt on their next possession and Weber State answered with a seven-play, 53-yard drive capped by Adam Rodriguez's 3-yard scoring run that made it 20-7 early in the fourth quarter. Marque Collin picked off a pass three plays later and Kris Jackson's 1-yard TD run made it 26-7 after a failed attempt at a 2-point conversion with 9:56 to play. Chris Helbig completed 23 of 42 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns for Southern Utah. Eddie Heckard had nine tackles, including 1 1/2 for losses, an interception and a forced fumble for Weber State (4-2, 2-0), which went into the game ranked No. 5 in the FCS Coaches poll. - AP College Football
