2019 ALL-ACC THIRD TEAM (COACHES): LB - Koby Quansah, Duke; 49,...Quansah, a 6-1, 230-pound senior from Manchester, Conn., ranked tied for second in the ACC in total tackles and tackles per game as well as tied for eighth in tackles for loss per game. He also led Duke in both tackles (tied for 26th in the NCAA) and TFL (10th ACC). Quansah was selected the ACC Linebacker of the Week on Sept. 30 after registering 13 tackles, 0.5 sack and one fumble recovery in a win over Virginia Tech. He tallied six game s with double-digit tackles, including a 13 tackles performance opposite the Hokies. The linebacker finished with 105 tackles, 12.0 TFL, 2.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries on the year. - Duke Football

SEPT 30/WEEK 5 ACC LINEBACKER OF THE WEEK: Koby Quansah, Duke, Sr., LB, Manchester, Conn.,...Quansah had a game-high 13 tackles, a fumble recovery, a half-sack and a pass breakup in the Blue Devils' 45-10 win at Virginia Tech...His fumble recovery in the second quarter led to Duke's first touchdown, which jump-started a run of 31 unanswered points for the Blue Devils...He led a Duke defense that limited Virginia Tech to 259 yards of total offense after the Hokies entered the week averaging 27.7 points a nd 398.3 total yards per game...Virginia Tech went just 4 of 12 (.333) on third-down conversions after entering the week leading the ACC with a .522 third-down conversion rate...He helped stymie a Virginia Tech aerial game into 8 of 20 passing for 120 ya rds and only two completions of more than 10 yards. - Atlantic Coast Conference Football

Duke senior linebacker Koby Quansah underwent surgery on Friday to stabilize a fractured right thumb suffered in practice on Thursday. He will be out of action indefinitely.

2019 PRESEASON WUERFFEL TROPHY WATCH LIST: Koby Quansah, Duke, Senior, LB,...Quansah, a 6-1, 230-pound Manchester, Conn., product, is charted as the starting middle linebacker for the Blue Devils. In 35 career games, he owns 102 tackles, 9.0 tackles for lost yardage, 1.0 sack, two caused fumbles, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup and six quarterback pressures. In addition to his candidacy for the Wuerffel Trophy, Quansah is Duke's nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team for excellence in commu nity service.Quansah traveled to Antigua, Guatemala, in May of 2018 with a group of Duke football teammates and staff members. While in Guatemala, the Blue Devil volunteers assembled seven smokeless stoves and helped construct the basis of a house for a small family. Prior to the trip to Guatemala, he took part in the Duke Football program’s local Habitat for Humanity initiative, helping the organization with a building project in Durham throughout the summer. - Duke Football
