  2019 AFCA DIVISION II COACHES' SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: LB Chris Hoad, Sr., Texas-Permian Basin,...After an outstanding 2019 senior season in which he finished with 157 tackles, the Leander native finished his four-year Falcon career with 526 tackles and finished as the active career leader in tackles. The two-time Lone Star Conference Linebacker of the Year shattered his own school records this season in total tackles, career tackles and tackles in a game. Against Angelo State, Hoad had an astounding 24 tackles which tied for the second most in a game across all levels of NCAA football. On Senior Night, Hoad was involved in a touchdown that went viral when teammate John O'Kelley let Hoad score on an interception return in the senior's final collegiate game. Hoad finished all but one game this season with double digit tackles and eclipsed the 100 tackle plateau all four years in orange and white. - Texas-Permian Basin Football

He scored a touchdown to end the first half in the season finale against Texas A&M-Kingsville on a play that has taken the world by storm and has been seen on numerous national media outlets over the last week. Hoad, a criminology major, was also named a member of the conference's Academic Team for 2019.   2019 PRESEASON LONESTAR DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Chris Hoad, LB, UT Permian Basin, - Hoad, a 6-0, senior linebacker from Leander, Texas, claimed LSC Linebacker of the Year honors last year after ranking third in Division II with 133 tackles. He added 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for the Falcons.

Hoad received eight votes for preseason acclaim over 10 others that collected votes. - Lonestar Conference
