  2019 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY SECOND TEAM (COACHES): LB Ty DeForest, Illinois State,...Started all 12 games at middle linebacker for the Redbirds...recorded career-highs in tackles (67), sacks (2) and TFLs (8) in his final season as the defensive signal caller...also recorded a pair of interceptions and broke up a pass...recovered a fumble as well, after being credited with five quarterback hurries...tallied a career-high nine tackles and a TFL in the win at No. 4 South Dakota State...had two TFLs and five stops in a win at Eastern Illinois...had a TFL in seven of eight games at one point in the season...tallied second interception of the season in the finale at Youngstown State. - Illinois State Football

  OCT 28 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: LB Ty DeForest, Illinois State,...DeForest led the way for the Redbird defense in a dominant effort Saturday in a win over Indiana State. DeForest tallied seven tackles, including six solo stops, including one for a loss against the Sycamores and he also recovered a fumble on the afternoon. Overall, the Redbird defense recorded five TFLs, recovered three fumbles and held the Sycamores to just 149 yards of total offense in the victory. - Missouri Valley Conference Football

  SEPT 23/WEEK 4 MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: LB Ty DeForest, Illinois State,...Senior linebacker Ty DeForest was a problem for the NAU defense all night long in the Redbirds' 40-27 victory over the Lumberjacks. The Marshall, Wisconsin, native recorded six tackles, including four solo stops, and added a sack, his first interception of the season and three quarterback hurries in the strong defensive effort. DeForest and the Redbird defense held NAU to just 25 yards on the ground and his interception was one of two on the night for the Redbirds, as the defense also tallied five sacks and six TFLs in the contest. - Missouri Valley Conference Football
