  2019 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): PK Sam Fenlason,...Was twice named MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week...finished the season 14-for-17 (.824) in field goal attempts...the 14 field goals were tied for second most in the league and his 82.4 percentage made was also second in the league...was a perfect 28-for-28 on extra point attempts to finish the season with 70 total points, good enough for seventh in the conference...earned first MVFC weekly honor after making 4-of-4 field goal attempts in a win over Northern Arizona...matched that effort with four makes in a win at No. 4 South Dakota State, including a career-long 46-yarder...ranks No. 14 in the FCS in field goal percentage. - Illinois State Football

  NOV 11 MISSOURI VALLEY SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PK Sam Fenlason, Illinois State, 6-2, 225, Sr., San Diego, California (Idaho),...Fenlason was stellar in the Redbirds' big road win over No. South Dakota State. The senior placekicker tied his career high with four made field goals in the win over the Jackrabbits, including a career-long 46-yarder to clinch the victory. Fenlason's first field goal make of 33 yards cut the SDSU lead at halftime to just one at 11-10. A 32-yarder late in the third quarter trimmed the Jackrabbits' lead to 18-13 and his 37-yarder early in the fourth quarter cut the deficit to 18-16. He capped off his career day with the long 46-yard bomb with 6:33 left in the game to bring the score to its final at 27-18. - Missouri Valley Conference Football

  SEPT 23/WEEK 4 MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PK Sam Fenlason, Illinois State, 6-2, 225, Sr., San Diego, California (Idaho),...Senior placekicker Sam Fenlason had a career night in Illinois State 40-27 victory over Northern Arizona. The San Diego, California, native connected on a career-high four field goals to help lift the Redbirds to 3-1 on the season. Fenlason had makes of 23, 28, 32 and 29 yards, respectively, in the contest to improve to 5-for-5 on the season in field goal attempts. He became the first kicker to make three or more field goals since 2017, when Sean Slattery hit three against South Dakota. Fenlason also made all four of his extra point attempts to finish with 16 points scored on the night. - Missouri Valley Conference Football
