2019 ALL-PIONEER FOOTBALL LEAGUE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): WR Michael Bandy, San Diego,...Senior Michael Bandy, senior Reid Sinnett, redshirt junior Aidan Valencia, sophomore DJ Wright, redshirt junior Nick Friedel, junior Kama Kamaka, senior David Tolbert, and redshirt junior Tanner Kuljian were among the eight Toreros named to the first team. Bandy, a unanimous selection, and Friedel earned first team honors for the second year in a row. 2019 AFCA FCS COACHES' FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: WR Michael Bandy, Sr., San Diego,...A product of La Mirada, Calif., Bandy finished the regular season among the nation's top receivers in every major category. He was top-10 in receiving touchdowns (eighth) and receiving yards (10th) while his 103.6 receiving yards per game were not only sixth-best in the FCS but also made him one of only eight receivers to average more than 100 yards per regular season contest. Bandy also helped San Diego rank as one of t he country's best passing attacks during the regular season as the Toreros were seventh in passing offense, second in passing efficiency, fourth in completion percentage, and second in total offense.Bandy completed the entire season with 1,152 rec eiving yards on 75 catches, making him the first Torero in program history to have back-to-back 75+ catch seasons as well as consecutive 1,100+ receiving yard campaigns. He also had 12 receiving touchdowns and 1,304 all-purpose yards. For his entire care er, Bandy had 192 catches, 3,294 receiving yards and 28 receiving touchdowns. The two-time All-PFL first team honoree averaged 17.2 yards per catch, which is sixth-best in program history, and 76.6 receiving yards per game in 43 contests. His 192 career grabs are tied for fourth-most in school history while his nearly 3,300 receiving yards are third-best. - San Diego Football

Reid Sinnett threw five touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead San Diego in a 42-17 rout of Valparaiso on Saturday. Sinnett was 21-of-31 passing for 271 yards and added 63 yards rushing. Michael Bandy had three touchdown catches and finished with eight receptions for 171 yards for the Toreros (4-2, 3-0 Pioneer League). Alex Spadone caught five passes, two for scores. San Diego forced a season-high four turnovers with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The Toreros jumped out to a 28 -3 halftime lead. Chris Duncan had two touchdown runs in the third quarter for Valparaiso (0-7, 0-3). Duncan was 16 of 26 for 182 yards passing and added 32 yards rushing. Reid Sinnett threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns and San Diego held off Harvard 31-23 on Saturday. The Toreros (1-2) led 31-7 midway through the third quarter. Yet in the fourth, Harvard's Jake Smith tossed a 14-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Klink and an 80-yard score to Jack Cook. The Crimson's Jake McIntyre's 30-yard field goal capped the scoring with 3:18 left. Harvard (0-1) forced a three-and-out on the Toreros' next series and had possession with 1:41 to play. The Crimson then had third-and-4 at the 50 but Smith threw an interception to Daniel Tolbert.Sinnett, a fifth-year senior, was 22-of-30 passing with a touchdown passes to Michael Bandy, Dalton Kincaid and Alex Spadone. Bandy had eight receptions for 159 yards and Kincaid had three catches for 104 yards. Spadone caught two passes for 41 yards. Smith was 22-of-39 passing for 325 yards.
