2019 ALL-COLONIAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Eli Mencer, UAlbany, DL, Sr., Altoona, Pa.,...Mencer has started every game on defense this season, earning his second All-Conference honor after being named to the Second Team in 2017. Mencer ranks seventh in the FCS and first in the CAA with a school-record 13.5 sacks. He has five forced fumbles on the year and 22.0 tackles for loss which rank first and second, respectively, in the conference. Mencer is a finalist for the STATS Buck Buchanan Award, presented to the top Defensive Player in the FCS. - UAlbany Football

Jeff Undercuffler threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score, Jarren Williams returned an interception for a score and Albany beat Bryant 45-3 on Saturday, handing first-year coach Chris Merritt his second straight loss. Alex James, 231 yards in 12 c arries, ran for two TDs, including an 80-yard run in the first quarter and an 85-yarder in the fourth. His 83-yard run to the Bryant 2-yard line set up Albany's (1-1) final TD, a 3-yard run by Jah Dabney.Undercuffler, 14 of 25 for 94 yards, hit Je rah Reeves over the middle on a 13-yard TD pass, then Williams intercepted a deflected pass from Chris Hindle and returned it 63 yards for a score and a 20-0 lead. Kareem Gibson recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff at the Bryant 21 and Undercuffler hit LJ Wesneski on a 7-yard pass for a score and a 28-0 edge at halftime. 2019 PRESEASON CAA FOOTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION (MEDIA/COACHES): Eli Mencer, SPEC, UAlbany,...Mencer, from Altoona, Pa., routinely has been one of the Great Danes' top playmakers on both defense and special teams. Last season, he led UAlbany with 4.5 sacks. He was second on the team with 8.5 tackles for loss and also registered a forced fumble, an interception and fumble recovery.
