  WEEK 6 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Maverick McIvor, WKU - Gr. - QB - San Angelo, Texas,...McIvor put together another strong performance in WKU's 27-24 win at Delaware on Friday, helping the team improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in CUSA play with the second road conference win in six days. He finished with 230 yards and a touchdown on 23-31-0 passing and added 36 yards on six rushing attempts. It marked his highest rushing total since he ran for 45 yards on six carries against Stephen F. Austin on Oct. 21, 2023. With the Tops holding a 20-17 lead over the Blue Hens in the third quarter, McIvor led an 80-yard drive to put his team ahead by 10 heading into the final frame.   WEEK 6 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Laurence Seymore, WKU - R-Sr. - LG - Miami Gardens, Fla.,...Seymore was part of a WKU offense that put up 338 yards in the 27-24 win at Delaware on Friday, helping the Hilltoppers improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in Conference USA play with their second league road win in six days. WKU tallied 230 yards through the air and completed 74% of its passes with the help of Seymore, who posted a pass blocking grade of 86.6 over 60 snaps at left guard and didn't allow a sack, hit or hurry. His 5.4 yards per carry was his highest tally of the year.   Koron Hayward and Dylan Flowers made game-changing defensive plays in the third quarter and Jaylen Lewis made a stop on fourth-and-1 in the closing minutes as Western Kentucky rallied for a 27-24 over Delaware on Friday night. Three snaps after the Hilltoppers kicked a field goal on the opening drive of the second half, Hayward had a 25-yard pick-6 that put them ahead 20-17.

The Blue Hens quickly went 80 yards on the ensuing possession, but on second-and-goal from the 4, Flowers hit quarterback Nick Minicucci as he neared the end zone and Elin Jones recovered it in the end zone. Delaware then marched 80 yards to take a 27-17 lead on a 5-yard pass from Maverick McIvor to George Hart III. Minicucci's third short touchdown run with 9:54 left to play made it 27-24 but the next drive - 11 plays taking up 4 1/2 minutes - ended on downs and on the last play of the game Nate Reed missed a 42-yard field goal to the right. McIver was 23 of 31 for 230 yards for Western Kentucky (5-1, 3-0 Conference USA).   WEEK 5 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: La'Vell Wright, WKU - Gr. - RB - Louisville, Ky.,...Wright provided more late-game heroics for the second week in a row, this time scoring two second-half touchdowns to help lift the Hilltoppers (4-1, 2-0 CUSA) to a 27-22 victory at Missouri State on Saturday. He finished with a team-high 104 all-purpose yards, including 91 yards on 10 rushing attempts. After the Bears took a 16-10 lead early in the second half, Wright put the Hilltoppers back ahead with a two-yard touchdown run. Wright had touches on the last four plays and accounted for 29 yards of the 12-play, 75-yard scoring drive. The running back extended the lead with 1:16 to play in the third quarter when he took a direct snap 17 yards to the end zone to make it a 24-16 game. - Conference USA Football

  WEEK 5 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Marshall Jackson, WKU - R-Sr. - LT - Brandenburg, Ky.,...Jackson helped WKU put up 476 yards of offense in its 27-22 win at Missouri State on Saturday, with 317 yards through the air and 159 yards on the ground. It was the third time this season the Hilltoppers have thrown for over 300 yards in a game, and it was the second-highest rushing yardage in a game this season. Jackson, who played 74 snaps at left tackle, posted a 65.8 run blocking grade - the highest among WKU offensive linemen in the win. The Hilltoppers put up 128 yards rushing in the second half, including 92 in the fourth quarter, to close out the win.   La'Vell Wright ran for two scores, Maverick McIvor threw for 216 yards and Western Kentucky took control in the fourth quarter and beat Nevada 31-16 on Saturday. Down 13-10, the Hilltoppers (3-1) began their rally at the beginning of the fourth, going on a nine-play, 85-yard drive that ended when George Hart III ran it in from 8 yards out with 11:32 left. Wright also scored from the 8 to end a five-and-a-half minute drive that lasted 14 plays and spanned 87 yards for 24-13 lead with 1:49 left. Nevada (1-3) got a field goal with 29 seconds left when Joe McFadden connected from 22 yards. However, the Wolfpack's on-side kick was gathered by Western Kentucky's Matthew Henry who returned it 50 yards for the final margin.   WEEK 1 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Maverick McIvor, WKU - Gr. - QB - San Angelo, Texas,...McIvor posted another impressive stat line to lead the Hilltoppers (2-0, 1-0 CUSA) to a 55-6 victory over North Alabama. In two-and-a-half quarters of play, McIvor threw for 305 yards and five touchdowns on 24-31-0 passing. The Hilltoppers had built a 42-6 lead by halftime, and McIvor had 275 yards and five touchdowns - the most by a CUSA quarterback in a half since Nov. 5, 2022. Through two games this season, McIvor has thrown for 706 yards and eight touchdowns. The 71-yard boot was the first 70-plus yarder a Hilltopper punter has recorded since the 2012 season, and the kick was downed at the Sam Houston four-yard line. The true freshman running back accounted for 110 all-purpose yards, finishing second on the team.   Maverick McIvor tied his career high with five touchdown passes and Western Kentucky rolled past North Alabama 55-6 on Saturday. McIvor, a senior, transferred from FCS Abilene Christian, where he had a career-high five touchdowns against Central Arkansas last October. He was 24 for 31 for 305 yards Saturday. He was relieved late in the third quarter by Rodney Tisdale Jr., who threw his first career touchdown on an 8-yard pass to Rodney Sims. Tisdale was 6 for 8 for 94 yards.

K.D. Hutchinson led the 14 Western Kentucky receivers to catch passes with 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five receptions. He made a one-handed catch down the right sideline, rumbling after contact for a 78-yard touchdown. Western Kentucky (2-0, 1-0 Conference USA) went 7-for-7 on their first seven red zone trips, coming away with 45 points. The Hilltoppers' last visit to the red zone late in the game stalled on a fourth-and-4 from the North Alabama 14-yard line. The Hilltoppers had 563 yards to North Alabama's 252, eclipsing 500 yards in each of their first two games to lead Conference USA in yardage.
