  WEEK 8 BIG SKY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kao Hansen, Weber State (DB, Jr., Alpine, UT.),...Kao Hansen had two interceptions and six tackles in Weber State's 43-27 win at Portland State on Saturday afternoon. Hansen's interception in the third quarter led to a field goal, while his pick in the fourth quarter was returned to the one-yard line which the Wildcats punched in for a touchdown on the next play. The weekly conference honors for Hansen are the first of his career.   Chauncey Sylvester had 135 yards rushing and a touchdown and Weber State pulled away early in the second half to beat Portland State 43-27 on Saturday. Sylvester's short-yardage touchdown run stretched the Weber State lead to 19-6 early in the third quarter. Zach Hrbacek and Will Way added a pair of short scoring runs, and Spencer Ferguson's 24-yard TD run made it 43-13 with 5:00 left in the fourth. Weber State (3-4, 1-2 Big Sky Conference) finished with 220 yards rushing on 41 carries. Ishaan Daniels also had a 20-yard pick-6 in the first quarter for the Wildcats. John-Keawe Sagapolutele completed 11 of 22 passes for 138 yards and threw three interceptions for Portland State (0-7, 0-3). The Vikings scored all three of their touchdowns, two on short runs from Tyrese Smith, in the fourth quarter. - AP College Football

  Jackson Gilkey threw two touchdown passes, Davion Godley ran for 193 yards and a score and Weber State jumped out early and held off Butler for a 38-24 victory on Saturday night. Godley scored on a 15-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter and Gilkey threw a 20-yard touchdown pass each to AJ Jayroe and Ammon Munyer to help Weber State take a 27-7 lead in the second quarter before Butler cut the deficit to 27-17 at the break.

Gabe Passini threw a 32-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter, and led the Butler (2-2) rushing attack with 23 carries for 175 yards that included a 12-yard touchdown early in the fourth to pull the Bulldogs to 30-24. Chauncey Sylvester's 3-yard touchdown run with 2:54 left capped a 6-play, 64-yard drive for Weber State (2-2). Gilkey finished 14-of-25 passing for 185 yards. Passini threw for 51 yards and added 175 yards rushing on 23 carries that included a 12-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter.   WEEK 3 BIG SKY CO-SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sloan Calder, Weber State (K, Jr., Morgan, UT.),...Weber State's Sloan Calder was a perfect 5-of-5 on extra point attempts and pulled off a special teams touchdown in Saturday's win at McNeese, tallying 11 points on the day. Late in the second quarter, he lined up for a field goal, but ran a fake and ran the ball in for a 10-yard touchdown run that put Weber State up 21-7 at halftime.   Jackson Gilkey accounted for 332 yards of offense with a pair of touchdowns and Weber State held off McNeese 42-41 on Saturday night for its first win of the season. BJ Carey's 42-yard interception return for a touchdown stretched Weber State's (1-2) lead to 42-21 with 9:45 remaining before McNeese (1-2) scored three unanswered touchdowns. Tre'Vonte Citizen answered Carey's pick-6 with a 79-yard touchdown run on the next play from scrimmage and then Jake Strong tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Harris with 4:56 left. Strong capped the scoring with a 19-yard TD run with 42 seconds to play.

Gilkey completed 11 of 20 passes for 218 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He ran for a 50-yard touchdown in the second quarter and finished with 114 yards rushing on 15 carries. Strong was 20-of-39 passing for 278 yards and threw two touchdown passes but was picked off twice. He added 45 yards rushing on nine carries with two TD runs. Citizen had 11 carries for 117 yards. Bryce Strong added 96 yards rushing that included a 68-yard score for McNeese. - AP College Football
