He ranks 14th nationally in the category and second in the Big South. Dyson finished with 29.0 total tackles and 11.5 tackles for a loss.   2022 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM: TE - Jihad Edmond, Sr., Bryant,...Edmond had a breakout year for the Bulldogs in 2022, earning all-conference honors for the first time in his career. He caught 25 passes for a career-high 274 yards and five touchdowns, leading all Big South tight ends in that category. Edmond caught multiple passes in six games and finished the year on a tear, catching 18 passes for 187 yards and three TDs over the final five games of the season.   2022 BIG SOUTH SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Anthony Frederick, KR, Sr., Bryant,...Frederick (Hollywood, Fla.) was the Big South's leader in kickoff returns with a 30.03 average -- just the fourth time a Big South player averaged 30.0 in a season. He is the national leader with 901 combined kick return yards, while his return average is third-best in FCS. Frederick earned Big South and National Special Teams Player of the Week honors after posting 197 return yards at Brown in Week 3 -- which featured a Big South record-tying 100-yard kickoff return touchdown. He had a kickoff return of 30+ yards in nine of 11 games. Frederick received 18 points and four first-place votes from the panel, ahead of Charleston Southern punter David Gelb (15 points and two first-place votes) and Campbell kicker Caleb Dowden (15 points and one first-place vote). - Big South Football

Anthony Frederick added 104 yards receiving and a score and Ishod Byarm rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown. Robert Morris (0-11, 0-5) was held to 195 total yards.   NOV 7 BIG SOUTH FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bryant quarterback Zevi Eckhaus (Culver City, Calif.) threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Bulldogs to a 43-37 victory over Campbell for the program's first-ever Big South win. He was 22-of-33 passing (66.7 percent) with no interceptions, and connected on TD passes of 9, 15, 13 and 6 yards for his second 4-touchdown game of the season.   Zevi Eckhaus threw four touchdown passes and Bryant held off Campbell 43-37 on Saturday. Bryant (3-6, 1-3 Big South) led 33-10 at halftime and 43-16 after Eckhaus' 6-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Prochaska early in the fourth quarter. The Fighting Camels (4-5, 2-2) rallied with three Chad Mascoe TD passes over five minutes to trail by six with just under six minutes remaining. But Mascoe was sacked twice on Campbell's final possession before the Camels turned the ball over on downs at the Bryant 43. Eckhaus was 22-of-33 passing for 235 yards without an interception. Ishod Byarm rushed for 148 yards on 30 carries with a score. Mascoe was 23-of-36 passing for 378 yards with the three touchdowns and a pick. It was a season-long and his only field goal attempt of the game, as he was 4-of-4 on PATs.   SEPT 19 STATS FCS NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Anthony Frederick, Bryant, WR/KR, Sr., 5-11, 180, Hollywood, Florida,...Frederick became the first FCS player to go 100 yards for a touchdown this season, returning a kickoff from Bryant's goal line in a 44-38, double-overtime loss at Brown. He added 97 yards on four other returns and caught two passes for 35 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown, as part of his 232 all-purpose yards. In Bryant's first season in the Big South, Frederick ranks first in the FCS in kickoff returns (12) and return yards (408), and third in return average (34). His 39.4 yards per return average is the second-highest in a single-game in league history (based on a minimum five returns), while his 197 kickoff returns yards are 10th-most in a game in the conference record book. Frederick totaled a career-high 232 all-purpose yards in Saturday's contest. He threw touchdown passes of 40, 24 and 25 yards, the last of which tied the game at 38-38 in the first overtime. Eckhaus had a long pass of 46 yards, and connected with 10 different receivers on the afternoon.   Zevi Eckhaus threw for 310 yards and four touchdowns and Bryant beat Division II-level Southern Connecticut State 56-10 on Saturday. Bryant (2-4) backup Gage Moloney came on in relief of Eckhaus and threw for two touchdowns on 6-for-7 passing. Eckhaus - who was 25 of 35 - and Moloney completed passes to 11-different receivers. Anthony Frederick caught five passes and tallied 111 yards receiving with a touchdown and Gary Cooper caught two scores for the Bulldogs. Bryant outgained Southern Connecticut 623-286 in total yardage. Marc Reali threw for 207 yards for the Owls. It was the 11th meeting between the two teams but the first time since 2009. The Bulldogs and Owls were Northeast-10 foes from 2001-2007, with the Owls winning six of those meetings. Bryant and SCSU met in the 2007 NCAA Division II playoffs, Bryant’s final game as a DII program. - AP College Football

  Ethan Gettman kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired and Bryant defeated Long Island University 31-29 on Saturday. Gettman's make overcame a Long Island comeback in which the Sharks scored three times in the fourth quarter, all on Michael Coney field goals. Coney's third field goal, from 28 yards, gave the Sharks a 29-28 lead in the final minute. Bryant (1-3) then drove 64 yards in 50 seconds to the winning kick. Quarterback Zevi Eckhaus was 3-for-3 passing on the drive and finished 19-of-30 passing for 180 yards. Ryan Clark's 1-yard touchdown run, his third score of the game, gave Bryant a 28-13 lead with 2:54 remaining in the third quarter. The Bulldogs went into an offensive lull, gaining only two first downs prior to their final drive. Derek Green completed 21 of 32 passes for 253 yards for the Sharks (0-4). Coney was 5-for-5 on field goals, the longest from 41 yards. LIU led in total offense 412 yards to 345. Ishod Byarm had 16 carries for 107 yards rushing for Bryant. - AP College Football

  SEPT 5 BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bryant quarterback Zevi Eckhaus completed 18-of-22 passes ( =81.8 percent) for 243 yards and a touchdown, and rushed 36 yards with a score in Bryant's 1-point overtime loss at FBS member Florida International. He led four different scoring drives in the Bulldogs' near win, and connected on a 25-yard TD pass on the first play of overtime. Eckhaus was 7-7 passing for 87 yards in the first quarter, 4-5 passing for 57 yards in the third period, and rushed for 43 yards and passed for 74 in the fourth stanza. Also nominated for Offensive Player of the Week: Bryant Barr (Campbell), Ross Malmgren (Charleston Southern), Narii Gaither (Gardner-Webb) and Zachary Yeager (North Carolina A&T). - Big South Football
