  SEPT 19 BIG SOUTH SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bryant return specialist Anthony Frederick (Hollywood, Fla.) who was also named the FedEx Ground FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week by Stats Perform, returned five kickoffs for 197 yards at Brown, which included a Big South record-tying 100-yard return for a touchdown. His 39.4 yards per return average is the second-highest in a single-game in league history (based on a minimum five returns), while his 197 kickoff returns yards are 10th-most in a game in the conference record book. Frederick totaled a career-high 232 all-purpose yards in Saturday's contest. Also nominated for Special Teams Player of the Week: Corey Petersen (Campbell), Sam Babbush (Charleston Southern) and Andrew Brown (North Carolina A&T). - Big South Football

  2022 PRESEASON ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES/MEDIA): LS David McCain, Jr., Bryant,...Bryant University football linebacker Joe Andreessen was named to the Preseason All-Big South team, the league announced on Tuesday during the Big South Football Media Day presented by BuyB1.com. In addition, wide receiver David Zorrilla and long snapper David McCain were named honorable mention selections to the preseason team. Bryant was slated to finish fifth in the six-team league, receiving one first-place vote. North Carolina A&T was picked to win the league by a vote of the coaches. McCain served as Bryant's long snapper on field goals, PATs and punts last fall and will return to that post this fall. - Bryant Football

The veteran of Bryant's offensive unit, Andrejco surpassed the 40-career games plateau this year in helping Bryant lead the league in scoring offense and total offense.   2021 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): K Luke Samperi, Bryant, Sr.,...Samperi closes out of the highest-scoring career for a Bryant kicker in DI program history with his second All-NEC nod. He made 7-of-10 field goals and 39-of-40 PATs, finishing the year with 60 points. Samperi made a season-long field goal of 41 yards at Marist and closed his career by making his final PATs. As a Bulldog, Samperi finished 22-of-34 (65 percent) on field goals and 97-105 (92 percent) on PATs for 163 points. - Bryant Football

  2021 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): DL Kenny Dyson, Jr., Bryant, Jr.,...Dyson Jr. is recognized on the All-NEC teams for the first time in his career this fall. One of the most feared rush ends in the NEC, Dyson Jr. posted 35.0 tackles, 7.0 sacks and 12.0 TFLs. He ranked second in the NEC in sacks per game and fourth in TFLs per game. Dyson Jr. posted at least a half sack in six of 11 games and had at least 1.0 TFLs in eight of 11 contests. He enjoyed an unstoppable three-week stretch against Brown, Duquesne and Saint Francis U in which he posted 3.5 sacks and 6.5 TFLs. - Bryant Football

He finished the year with 47 receptions (5.2/game) for 623 yards and two TDs. Zorrilla posted 69.2 yards per game and was one of the league's best wideouts in NEC-only games. In seven league games, Zorrilla caught 37 passes for a league-high 511 yards and two TDs. After missing all four games in the spring, Saddler returned with a vengeance this fall, averaging 8.3 tackles per game and adding a sack, 6.0 TFLs, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Saddler made at least five tackles in all but one game and poste double-digit tackles on three occasions. He finished the year ranked third in the NEC in both sacks and TFLs and 18th in the NEC with his career-high 71 stops. The 71 tackles are the most by a defensive lineman in the league. Wright enjoyed his best game of the year against LIU, posting seven tackles, two sacks, 4.5 TFLs and two forced fumbles. One of Bryant's all-time great defenders, Nemerowicz posted 10+ tackles on five occasions, including a season-high 13 in Bryant's win over Duquesne. He also added his first-career touchdown this fall, returning an interception 33 yards for a score against Sacred Heart.   2019 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): P Gavin Rowley, Bryant, Sr.,...An All-NEC Second Team placekicker in 2017, Rowley is now an All-NEC Punter. Rowley punted a league-high 74 times for 3,110 yards this fall, setting the Bryant single-season record for punting yardage. He produced 13 punts of 50+ yards and led the NEC with a 42.0 average. His highest output came against Saint Francis U when he punted 10 times for a program-record 464 yards. That included a career-long 66-yard punt. Rowley became only the second punter in school history with over 7,000 career yards and graduates second all-time. - Bryant Football

  2019 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): K Luke Samperi, Bryant, Jr.,...Samperi becomes just the second kicker (Rowley) to earn All-NEC honors in Bryant history. He finished the year 11-of-14 in field goal attempts and 20-of-22 on PATs. Samperi led the NEC in field goal percentage (78.6), was third in total field goals with his program record-tying 11 and finished with 53 points. He opened his season by kicking a 49-yard field goal in the season opener and made eight-straight at one point. That stretch included a career-high 50-yard field goal against Duquesne, just the third field goal of 50+ yards in school history.
