Former Tennessee defensive lineman John Mincey announced he is transferring to Arkansas State and will play for former Vols coach Butch Jones. The 6-foot-3, 276-pound Mincey entered the transfer portal on March 5. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Mincey appeared in 24 games in three years with the Vols, never quite cracking the starting lineup. He played in all 10 games in 2020, amassing eight tackles, a half-tackle for loss and one quarterback hurry. He had five tackles in both 2018 and 2019. Mincey, a three-star prospect from Clinch County High in Homerville, Georgia, signed in 2018, as part of former coach Jeremy Pruitt's first signing class. The Vols were able to flip Mincey from Arkansas on National Signing Day. - Knoxville News Sentinel
