Make no mistake about it: George Pickens is the alpha male in the Georgia receiver room. He burst onto the scene with a tremendous freshman season in 2019, finishing with 49 receptions, 727 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the team in all categories. Pickens put the rest of the SEC on notice that he will be a force to be reckoned with over the next two to three seasons. That go-to target is something the Bulldogs didn't really have last season. Many receivers struggled to create separation from defenders, resulting in small windows for quarterback Jake Fromm to throw into.

With Pickens' emergence, defenses will have to gameplan for him. He will still put up his numbers, but that also could (and should) create opportunities for other Bulldog pass catchers to step up and make plays. Whether it's Demetris Robertson, Dominick Blaylock, Kearis Jackson or Matt Landers, Pickens will need some help if the passing game is to be potent. Despite being a highly-touted recruit, Pickens' phenomenal freshman season came as a relative surprise. - Macon Telegraph
