Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney is catching more heat after a photo surfaced on Twitter Saturday that appeared to show him wearing a "Football Matters" shirt. The shirt added to Swinney's problems after his response to the death of George Floyd that has prompted widespread protests and a national discussion on race. Floyd, a black man, died after Derek Chauvin, a white Minneapolis police officer, pressed his knee into the back of Floyd's neck for more than eight minutes. The tweet showing Swinney in the shirt has since been deleted, but there are plenty of screenshots of the post. Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who has forcefully spoke out against racial injustice, defended Swinney wearing the shirt. Coach Swinney's shirt, in any way, is not mocking the Black Lives Matter movement. He has been wearing the shirt for months in meetings. Swinney, 50, spoke about the death of Floyd last week. - The Oregonian
