  Kekoa Visperas had a touchdown pass and the Tennessee Tech defense allowed just over 200 yards as the Golden Eagles topped Charleston Southern 27-13 on Saturday. Tennessee Tech (6-0, 3-0 OVC-Big South Association), ranked No. 7 in the FCS coaches poll, forced a three-and-out on the opening possession and a 19-yard punt gave the Golden Eagles the ball on the Buccaneers' 40-yard line. Visperas had a 2-yard touchdown toss to Maury Sullivan seven plays later for a 7-0 lead. Zach Gordon's 37-yard field goal at the end of an 11-play drive made it 7-3 after one quarter.

Obie Sanni's 6-yard touchdown run 6 seconds into the second quarter upped Tennessee Tech's advantage to 14-3. Charleston Southern (1-6, 0-3) answered with a 17-play 70-yard drive that took 9:51 off the clock. Zolten Osborne's 9-yard touchdown pass to Rashawn Cunningham capped the drive and cut it to 14-10. Q'Daryius Jennings' 1-yard touchdown run finished off a nine-play 75-yard drive and the Golden Eagles led 20-10 at halftime after the missed extra-point. Aidan Littles scored on a 16-yard run late in the third quarter to up Tennessee Tech's lead to 17. Visperas completed 17 of 27 passes for 157 yards with two interceptions. He carried nine times for a team-high 72 yards. Osborne had 80 yards on 11-for-24 passing with an interception.   WEEK 6 OVC-BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kekoa Visperas, QB, 6-0, 193, R-Sr., Eatonville, Wash., Tennessee Tech,...Visperas accounted for 431 yards of total offense and four touchdowns as Tennessee Tech improved to 5-0 for just the third tie in program history in topping Western Illinois 66-20. The Eastern Washington transfer completed 24-of-38 passes for 358 yards and four scores and rushed for a team-high 73 yards on eight carries (9.1 ypc). Visperas had touchdown passes of 9, 31 and 25 yards in the first half and added a 4-yard score early in the third quarter. His play helped the Golden Eagles tally a season-best 618 yards of total offense as the squad reached 60-plus points for the third time this season.   Quintell Quinn ran for a 67-yard touchdown, Q'Daryius Jennings added a 45-yard TD run, and Andrew Smith returned an interception 94 yards for a score to help Tennessee Tech beat Tennessee State 35-8 on Saturday in the OVC/Big South Conference opener for both teams. Tennessee Tech (4-0), which is ranked No. 11 in the FCS coaches poll, has won nine games in a row - the longest active win streak in the FCS - dating to last season. Quinn finished with seven carries for 107 yards and Jennings had 71 yards rushing on six carries. Kekoa Visperas was 9-of-16 passing for 103 yards and a TD for Quinn, on the game's second play from scrimmage, took the hand off up the middle, bent out toward the left sideline and raced untouched to the end zone to open the scoring 46 seconds in.

Kekoa Visperas threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Noah Robinson with 8:52 remaining in the first half and the long TD run by Jennings made it 21-0 with 38 seconds left in the second quarter. Tim Coutras intercepted a pass a little more than a minute into the third quarter to give Tennessee Tech possession at the TSU 16 and three plays later Aidan Littles scored on a 1-yard run. Smith's pick-6 gave the Golden Owls a 35-0 lead with 5:39 left in the third quarter. Freddy Perez made field goals of 30 yards late in the third quarter and 23 yards early in the fourth for Tennessee State (1-3). The victory moved the Golden Eagles to 3-0 on the season for the first time since 1977. The Eastern Washington transfer completed 23-of-32 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 46 yards (7.7 ypc) and two additional scores. Four of his five touchdowns came in the first half as TTU built a 45-14 halftime advantage. Visperas had passing touchdowns of 4, 31 and 9 yards and rushing scores of 17 and 7 yards. He currently ranks fifth nationally in points responsible for per game (20.0), sixth in passing touchdowns (8) and ninth in passing efficiency (169.7).   Kekoa Visperas threw for three touchdowns and ran for two scores, Quintell Quinn had 122 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and Tennessee Tech beat Davidson 72-14 on Saturday to start a season 3-0 for the first time since 1977. Tennessee Tech (3-0), which entered 2-0 for the first time since 2012, extended its FCS-leading win streak to eight straight games. It was the most points scored by the Golden Eagles since scoring 77 against Alabama Normal in 1928. Tennessee Tech has scored a touchdown on its opening drive in all three games this season. The Golden Eagles scored on their opening four drives against the Wildcats, started by Quinn's 41-yard run on their second play from scrimmage.

Visperas added a touchdown on a 17-yard run, and he connected with Noah Robinson on a 4-yard score and Brian Courtney for a 31-yard TD. Tennessee Tech capped its 45-point first half with Theron Gaines' 60-yard pick-6 with one second left before the break. Dom LeBlanc made a career-long 47-yard field goal late in the second quarter for a 31-7 lead. Visperas was 23 of 32 for 246 yards without an interception. The Golden Eagles combined for 308 yards on the ground and six touchdowns. Coulter Cleland threw for 132 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Davidson (0-3).   Kekoa Visperas threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns, Aidan Littles and Quintell Quinn combined for 148 rushing yards and two scores, and Tennessee Tech cruised to a 45-17 win over Chattanooga on Saturday. A 21-point first quarter set the tempo for the FCS No. 17 Golden Eagles (2-0), who had 513 yards of total offense. Tennessee Tech has won their first two games for the first time since 2012. A potent rushing attack saw three Eagles score on the ground, highlighted by Littles' 48-yard dash to the goal line in the first quarter. Q'Daryius Jennings added 42 yards and a touchdown.

Visperas completed 18 of 27 passes, and Jace Wilson saw his only pass of the game go 52 yards to Luke Shields for a late touchdown. Theron Gaines led the defense with seven total tackles and one sack. Devin Hunter grabbed the lone Eagles interception in the third quarter. For the Mocs (0-2), Camden Orth was 22-for-45 passing with 249 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.   Kekoa Visperas passed for three touchdowns and Tennessee Tech rolled to a 65-0 win over Cumberland on Saturday in a season opener. Visperas' scoring passes to Torin Baker, Aidan Littles and Tre' Halloway all came in the first half when the Golden Eagles, ranked No. 22 in the FCS coaches poll, took a 45-0 lead. Holloway also had a 53-yard punt return for a score. Q'Darryius Jennings added two touchdowns runs and Quintell Quinn, Jace Wilson and Maurice Sims one apiece. Sims' 78-yard touchdown run came in the final minute. Tennessee Tech outgained the NAIA Phoenix 570-94. Visperas was 17 of 26 for 250 yards passing. It was 21-0 after one quarter when the Golden Eagles outgained the Phoenix 125-17 with the Phoenix held to minus-7 yards on the ground. The last time the Golden Eagles shut out an opponent was in a 35-0 win over Tennessee State in 2023. - AP College Football
