  Maurice Washington rushed for a career-high 201 yards on a scant 10 carries with two touchdowns and Grambling walloped Arkansas-Pine Bluff 36-10 on Saturday. Grambling (3-6, 2-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference), which beat Alcorn State 35-6 last week, now has won back-to-back games for the first time since 2019. Emerging from halftime with a 7-0 lead, Washington broke a tackle in the secondary on the first play from scrimmage and sprinted 75 yards down the right sideline for a two-touchdown lead. Following a Golden Lions (2-7, 0-6) field goal, Washington escaped again - this time running for a 60-yard score.   Maurice Washington led a committee of running backs with 69 yards and a touchdown and Grambling beat Alcorn State 35-6 on Saturday. Washington, Floyd Chalk IV and Chance Williams were part of a ground attack in which each reached the end zone. Quarterback Julian Calvez also ran one in. Defensively, Myron Stewart's 68-yard, pick-6 of Aaron Allen gave the Tigers a 21-0 lead en route to a 28-point halftime advantage. Tre Lawrence threw a 4-yard score to Tavarious Griffin with 19 seconds left in the third for Alcorn State's lone score. The win ended a five-game losing streak for Grambling (2-6, 1-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference). The skid was the Tigers' longest losing streak since dropping eight straight in their 1-11 campaign in 2013. He contributed touchdown passes of 83 yards, 20 yards and 71 yards as he threw for 292 yards in the first half. His efforts helped GSU build a 41-7 halftime lead over Northwestern State.   Quaterius Hawkins threw three touchdown passes, Maurice Washington ran for two scores and Grambling defeated Northwestern State 47-21 on Saturday night. Northwestern State grabbed a 7-0 lead on Miles Fallin's 13-yard scoring toss to Zach Patterson midway through the first quarter. Washington answered with touchdown runs of 61 and 25 yards and Grambling (1-1) never trailed again. Chance Williams scored on a 1-yard run early in the second quarter to put the Tigers up 21-7. Hawkins followed with scoring strikes of 83 yards to Lyndon Rush, 20 yards to Claude Coleman and 71 yards to JR Waters to give Grambling a 41-7 lead at the half. Hawkins completed 13 of 23 passes for 293 yards. Washington finished with 95 yards on only five carries. Fallin completed 26 of 42 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions for Northwestern State (0-2). He also led the Demons with 60 yards on 14 rushes. - AP College Football
