  2022 RMAC DEFENSIVE FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR: Cooper Brown, Black Hills State,...Black Hills State's Cooper Brown is the RMAC Defensive Freshman of the Year following his redshirt freshman season with the Yellow Jackets where he converted 45 tackles over 11 appearances. Of his 45 tackles, 25 were unassisted and 10.5 were deemed tackles for loss. He also registered 7.5 sacks for 56 yards, five quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. The defensive end's impressive season pushed the Yellow Jackets to a 7-4 overall record and a 5-4 mark in conference play, marking Black Hills State's first winning season since 2016. - RMAC Football
