 Trevor Etienne, Georgia, Player News

  12/07/23 - RB Trevor EtienneJr/2026, Georgia, 5-09, 205 (DS#7 RB) + More +

Florida running back Trevor Etienne, who led the Gators with nine touchdowns and emerged as one of the team's most dynamic playmakers, entered the transfer portal Thursday. The younger brother of former Clemson star and Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne ran for 753 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore despite playing behind a shaky offensive line. He also had 172 yards receiving and a score while sharing time with Montrell Johnson.

Etienne and Johnson, a junior who followed coach Billy Napier from Louisiana-Lafayette, have become close friends during their two years in Gainesville. And Etienne would like to see both become primary ball-carriers so they can improve their NFL draft stock. He will have two years of eligibility remaining. He joins a growing list of Florida players who have entered the portal, including pass rusher Princely Umanmielen, receiver Caleb Douglas and defensive linemen Will Norman and Chris McClellan. - AP College Football

NOV 14 SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Trevor Etienne, RB, Florida,...Career-high 100 yards on the ground, first 100 yard game of his career. Etienne's 85-yard TD rush was the seventh-longest TD rush in school history, and the longest by a Florida player since Lamical Perine's 88-yard TD run vs. Auburn in 2019. Etienne's big score is tied for the eight-longest TD rush in the FBS this season. It marked the second-longest TD run by a Florida freshman in school history (John L. Williams, 86 yards vs. West Texas State, 1982). Etienne's 85-yard TD was Florida's second-longest TD run since 1988 - when Emmitt Smith ripped off a 96-yard TD (longest in school history) vs. Mississippi State. - SEC Football

Trevor Etienne's 3-yard touchdown run with 5 minutes remaining helped No. 18 Florida rally to beat South Florida 31-28 on Saturday night. South Florida's Spencer Shrader missed a 48-yard field goal with 23 seconds left that likely would have sent the game into overtime. Shrader had little chance at making the kick after Andrew Beardall dropped the snap while trying to get the ball down. Nonetheless, the back-and-forth game will be remembered for Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson's miscues and his team's inability to stop the run.

Richardson was off all night for the second straight week. He completed 10 of 18 passes for 112 yards and two interceptions. The second one came in the end zone on a head-scratching play call by coach Billy Napier. Instead of potentially taking the lead, Florida trailed 28-24 and desperately needed help. Tre'Vez Johnson delivered. He intercepted Gerry Bohanon's third-down pass on the ensuing possession and gave Florida the ball back with a short field. Napier turned to Etienne, the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne. Trevor Etienne carried the ball four straight times, the last one into the end zone to put Florida (2-1) back in front. - Florida/AP College Football
